When will OOS review applicants get their notification?

Im dying to know....

i heard out of state is very competitive. they take a lot a lot a lot of texans. on the website it said for 2008 freshman class only 4% were OOS. so i would think probably a while.

My son has received his acceptance to A&M and he is from out-of-state. He was not an automatic admit, but a review candidate. However, he is joining the Corps of Cadets and has won an Army ROTC scholarship, so that probably made the difference. I know the top 10% rule only applies to Texas high schoolers, but I believe the automatic academic admit (top 25%, 1300 SAT) applies to any U.S. applicant. I think automatic admits of any kind are processed as they come in. The majority of the rest of review applicants probably will not get their admission decisions until the Spring from what I have read of past years posts on admission.

^thanks for the reply

SPRING IS SOO FAR aWAY. Can u define wat u mean by spring? hehe

Spring can be all the way into April. If you look at the posts here from Spring of 2008, there were many applicants complaining that they had not heard an admission decision until the middle of April. That’s cutting it a little close considering May 1st is the deadline to commit to your college of choice. I would imagine after the January 15th application deadline, they can start going over their review applications because they know for sure what kind of numbers they are working with and what percentage of admissions they can offer.

wow mid April, that is cutting it close.
do u also happen to know the earliest response, personally i think i have a good shot at getting in, my test cores are above the 50th percentile or so, i have visited the campus, have great ECs and leadership roles, and met with an undergrad councilor on my visit.

A&M has rolling admission, so you could technically hear at any time from now until April. It sounds like you have done all you can to be a competitive applicant. I completely understand how hard the waiting is for you. I am an Aggie, as is my father, and we love the school. Please let this board know as soon as you hear anything.

^again, thank you for your reply and words of encouragement. I literally am really nervous to hear from them, so much so that I feel like it will be hurtful to my health if I continue doing so. Im taking the SAT Math 1 this Saturday to add to my credentials as well as retaking the ACT next week. And I have been taking all the time i can to prep. Hopefully this will keep my mind off my nervousness.

I fell in love with the school the moment I saw it, before even driving into the campus. Hopefully all will end well…

i am in the same boat, it’s absolutely killing me not to know. a&m is wonderful, and i would be crushed if i didn’t make it.

but as was said, any more info. as to when decisions begin arriving would be a great help to my peace of mind…:)

Febuary 1st is the first day the Unversity lets review non-University scholarship applicants know. From there it could extend until April or even possibly May.
