When does Texas advise out of state students whether they are in or out!?

When you learn to spell state ;)

We hear by early April.

Dal, where did I go wrong, I thought UT had rolling....

More waiting? Ughhh

though a few OOS with outstanding stats have already been admitted, the rest of us slightly more average folk will start hearing as early as mid march which is basically april. bummer

UT does have rolling admissions...but most of those rolling decisions are for TX students in the top ten percent of their class and out-of-state students accepted to honors programs through early consideration.

Some students from outside the top ten percent but from Texas have already been accepted, but most of the students have to wait. I believe that they will release more decisions every day after February 1, so you may not need to wait until April 1 to hear back.

I'm oos and got my admission decision a few days ago... but no word on honors.. how would I know if I got accepted to an honors program anyway? when do they usually let us know about honors?

It depends on the program. Plan II sent me a big thick manila envelope saying I got in--this was for EC.
I don't know what the other programs do. I don't know if they have made any decisions for any of the Honors programs. The deadline is 11:59 PM Central tonight, so they may yet have more applicants.

im from florida and i got accepted, i checked today so it must be rolling

When did you apply, Elisokool?

Do you hear about scholarships at the same time as acceptance?

i applied in october

^did you apply to any honors?

It is rolling. I was telling you that the deadline for notification is early April.

i didn't, can i still? and what does honors do for you?

See UcMichigan, lots of people who did not apply to honors programs are getting in.

@Elisokool16, I think only Turing Scholar's deadline has been extended to May 30th. You can still apply for an honors program if you submitted your UT application by the Feb 1st deadline.

"An honors application that is completed after the honors program's deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the honors program." - http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/freshmen/honors/index.html
