As of now, Princeton doesn't accept any transfers. However, I heard that they will start accepting them for the fall of 2007. Is this true? It liekly has to do with Whitman opening, making more space available.

Expansion of the study-abroad program would help open up beds. Currently, only a few athletes transfer in.

Is there a date anyone knows as to when transfers will be allowed in?

Byerly: GO AWAY!!!!

Probably not this year.

Princeton probably will start accepting transfers in the near future, given the construction of its new dorm plus an (expected) increase in study abroad. Also, given the fact that Janet Lavin Rapelye is now in charge (and Fred Hargadon, who determined the no transfer policy, is out of there), changes in Princeton's admissions policies will most likely be imminent.

Princeton's stated policy is:
"Transfer Admission. In some years, Princeton is able to offer admission to a limited number of transfer applicants from other colleges and universities. However, in light of the University's very low attrition rate, coupled with slightly larger than expected first-year enrollments in recent years, it has been determined that there will be no transfer admission process until the fall of 2006, at the earliest."

So I'd say transfers coming in fall 2007 or fall 2008 is pretty likely.

That was definitely a Hargadon phrase, since, in truth, the "attrition rate" has been no lower at Princeton than at Harvard or Yale in recent years, and the first year enrollment yields have been no higher. Freddie just wanted his person stamp on the behind over every admit. The only exception he was willing to make was for the odd athlete whose skills were needed to fill an unexpected void. Rapelye seems to be far less rigid and controlling.

Byerly: Do you have a life?

no. it's pathetic,huh?

Everkingly: Do you have a life aside from trying to boot Byerly off the Princeton boards?

;)

lavendercloud: Yes, I do. Do you have a sense of humor? Looking at your post, I'd say that's a resounding NO.

Looking at the ;) ...

I'd say that's a resounding YES.

And so are the mangoes ;) ;) ;) ;)

(Well, aren't you going to say "And the Big Cheese gets his at midnight?")

I really couldn't care less about your smilies and quite frankly I really don't want to argue with you about Byerly's desperate need to vilify all the ivies other than his alma mater, Harvard.

Good luck next year with your college applications.......too bad Princeton isn't even a top choice for you which begs the question why are you on a Princeton thread?

Sorry, it was all Monty Python.

I have looked into Princeton, and I check out the board every once in a while because I'm interested in it. I haven't ruled it out or anything. And once I've posted in a thread, I'm subscribed to it, so I check for updates.

And it's rather funny that you try to pass off your attacks as humor...
