says in this blog when admission decisions will be mailed

Just so you know, the blog says that letters will be sent out either tomorrow or Thursday.

I just checked the blog, and the decision letters are being sent out this afternoon.

My kid was accepted, and is thrilled to bits. Good luck to all of you, and don’t forget that it will work out well for you -

Congrats to your child, memot333! Nothing in our mail today (So Cal too) but I’m pretty sure my daughter will be getting a thin envelope. All is fine however it works out, though, she is happy to go where she has already been accepted. I’m a big believer in things work out the way they are meant to work out. Congrats to those who will be Muddhers, class of 2015!

I got an email … rejected ( I am an international )

I got in…I don’t know how I feel about this. I got into UCLA and that was my top choice because for sure I thought I’d get rejected from HMC. I don’t know if I’ll end up going, I am the bottom of the bottom for this school with my SAT scores. I got way less than a 2100…less than a 1900 even.

Congrats Deysim. My advice is if you can, go to the Admitted Students weekend and see how you feel. My son is a junior at Mudd. When he went to the admitted students weekend, it was clear to me he had met his tribe. He commented that everyone there was “scary smart,” but these were the type of people he wanted to be around for 4 years. While the average Mudder has amazing SAT scores, the admissions office is really good at looking beyond the numbers to identify who they think will thrive at Mudd. They are usually right. They are looking for folks with passion and talent beyond the SATs. Let’s face it, once you get past the college application process, the standardized test taking skill is generally never needed again. All the other factors that go into the admission matrix are. I know of Mudders with scores below 2000 who have done really well (although like everyone else, had to work their behinds off to succeed). Don’t let your SAT score hold you back.

Very nice post Azalia! It is my assertion that most kids who apply to these elite schools can do well at the schools they apply to if they choose to. The difficulty is “getting in!” Congrats deysim, why don’t you go visit and see how you feel afterward. They saw you as worthy, so you have to trust in their knowledge! Best of Luck.

S just received package in Southern California. Was post-marked yesterday (3/24) so I guess all decisions did not make it into the mail on Wednesday. I am assuming its an acceptance, since its a big envelope, but I’ll let S open it when he gets home from school.

If it’s a BIG envelope, your child is in. Congrats!

Daughter got the thin envelope today, but I am fine with that, and I think she will be too. She is happy to be going where she was admitted, it was very competitive too, but honestly…I think it is a better fit for her. Mudd is all about the fit, and I think they did a good job of figuring that out. I’m just relieved that this step is OVER and she can accept at her other choice and get going on housing.

Again, congrats to the Muddhers, class of 2015!

Hey, I am a US citizen abroad and i got an email this morning saying i was in! Im still in a kind of shock, and i guess i wont believe it until i have an envelope in my hands, but i am really happy! Congrats to all of you out there (:

Hi guys - I got my acceptance e-mail yesterday too since I’m living abroad (international citizen, though). Do any of you know if the merit scholarship information will be included with the package that they’re sending out? Or should I have received an e-mail already about it since I’m overseas?

yeah, so my question is, if i applied FA and get accepted now, i will receive the amount of money i’m expecting for FA wont i?

From the admissions blog:
If you’re selected as a recipient for the Harvey S Mudd Merit Award or the FIRST Robotics Scholarship, this information will be included with your admit letter. President’s Scholars Program finalists will be notified via e-mail and brought to campus for an interview on April 9; we’ll select the awardees a few days later. National Merit Scholarships are given to any student who is a National Merit Finalist, is not matched with a scholarship through NMSC, and names HMC as his or her top choice school. So if you’re a National Merit Finalist, it’s safe to assume you will receive an award of some kind.

To the poster above - You should not assume that you will get the ‘amount of money you are expecting’ for FA. You will get what HM can afford and thinks you need. That might be more (rather unlikely) or less. And, it may include loans.

I got in! Woot woot!

They included a penned note at the bottom of my acceptance letter, which is really cool and thoughtful. Can’t wait to visit the campus!

Acceptance letter received today!

Has anyone from out of state gotten a letter yet? (I’m from GA)
