Should we sign up for the visit? We like everything Rice has to offer.
Regular admission decisions typically come out toward the end of March. Admitted students are invited to attend Owl Days that will be held April 13-15 this year. I would personally recommend waiting and then attending that event.
Visiting is important in deciding whether a school is one you want to attend. However, at Rice it is especially important in demonstrating your interest in the school. Rice wants to know that you are actually interested in attending rather than simply padding your list of acceptances. Unfortunately, visiting in late February or March is unlikely to be timely for the admissions committee’s review. If you are sincerely interested in Rice, you have probably indicated your interest in other ways such as attending off-campus info sessions and through a thoughtful and knowledgable essay in response to the Why Rice? prompt.
Absolutely visit.
Do they have early notification program or likely letters?
@Ballerina016 I don’t think they do. The official release date is April 1. But results in the past have come out on the fourth Friday or Monday in March. ED results were a few days early this year.
