Does anyone know the new timeline for next years FSU admission's application? UF already has posted on its website that their application will be available July 1 and all are due by November 1. Just wondering if FSU is planning any big application changes (like UF did...changing to one admission round)?

Yuh I want to apply to FSU first day application comes out as well!

Last night my daughter got a call from a student working in the admissions office at FSU. They had noted her interest in the school and she was following up to see if she had any questions. We asked the student about the 2008 applications and she said that they would be available in August. I hope that she is wrong on this and that they will be out in July. She also said that the deadline for the first round of admissions is going to be October 10th (with a November 28th notification date). This is a few weeks later than last year!

Apply early...get admitted early...get housing priority number ASAP.

I would suggest a personal visit with an admissions officer - soon - and get the best info possible. Last time, it was August.

We have an appointment for the 2pm admissions session on Jun 13th followed by the van tour. Should we also plan to additionally meet with someone one on one? We are staying nearby overnight so we have all afternoon for additional exploration.

I would. I called the Director of Admissions and met with the assistant director (super nice lady). Also call Honors if that fits. At least back then FSU was very receptive to one-on-one appointments.

We presented our kids hs transcript and test scores and received and very quick read on admissibility plus a scholarship offer.

How necessary is a visit with Admissions? We are out of state, so we were not planning to visit unless S is accepted into film program (or to interview for film program if that is required).

It's probably only recommended if you think you're competitive for a merit scholarship or if you think you're borderline qualified and want to see what your chances and/or options are.
