<p>Someone told my son that they make their decisions in "batches". Does anyone know if this is true and if so when do you think the next round, if you will, of decisions will come out? My son's completed appl. was in mid November so about 6 weeks now.
Also does anyone know how they look at first.gen. students? My son will be a first gen. applicant, and I believe made it knowns somewhere on his application, if he didn't is it worth emailing them this info and if so, is there a tactful way to do this? Thanks and Happy New Year!</p>

<p>Same problem here. I submitted my entire application on time for Early Response but U-M misplaced my teacher rec, so my counselor sent another copy on 12/10. Even though it wasn't my fault, they still delayed my response time. I figured since they had almost all of my stuff by 10/31 I would get a decision soon but still I have nothing. So frustrating!</p>

<p>I think I remember reading they take between 6-8 weeks for a student's decision and batches are released every two weeks, so i would be expecting something in a week or 2. I bet first generation helps, since i am one myself and got in, but it can't be that big a boost.</p>
<p>We called the admissions office, they said its more like 9-12 weeks right now from the time an application is complete.</p>
