<p>Okay, so I mailed my application in (through "snail mail", as some people call it). The tracking slip came back, and said that Rice received it on Tuesday. How long does it take for them to give feedback about the application? Will they send an email saying that they received it?</p>
<p>If I remember correctly, my son received no confirmation last year from Rice. At some point he called the admissions office and they confirmed over the phone that his application was complete. So don't expect anything, but you can give them a call to check.</p>
<p>I think (eventually) they'll email you a pin number with which you can check the completeness of your application online (fees, test scores, recs, etc.). Even if there is something missing, like a rec, they're pretty good about understanding and making allowances in instances of misunderstanding or adult fault.</p>
