When Will They Send Out Their Decisions?

It’s pretty ridiculous. i applied in september. now initially they said, “oh you applied Early Action, so you should hear your decision by the first of the year (jan. 1st)” then i called again. They said, “all notifications will be sent out by early march, mid-march at the latest. And since you applied “Early Action” you should hear before most people”. It’s now almost mid march. So what the hell, I call them just to see how close they are. Now they say, “you most likely wont hear from us until mid APRIL” APRIL!! are you kidding me, I think they believe that if they put off all the apps long enough that they will all disapear and they won’t have to work at all.

And just because i know someone will ask, here are my stats:
GPA: 3.65/4
SAT:1230 (660M)(570V)
Ranked in the 40% (the woodlands high school, a 3.95/4 wont get you in the top 15%)

 1. I’ve singled handedly created a dozen fundraising concerts for cancer, american heart association, and many other foundations.

President of my church youth group

Worked at the George Bush Library (A&M) for a summer

Own my own silkscreening business. And more ec’s to go
****, balls

What do they care? UT and A&M have students begging to get in. They don't have to play nice with applicants.

(please note I don't like their attitude, either)

because it's their job. it's what my parents have already paid 2 full tuitions for and hopefully a third

The difficulty may be with the top 10% rule. People in the top ten are guaranteed admits and so depending upon how many apps they receive from this group, I suspect it impacts the number of other admissions. But this is only my suspicion. I find the people at TAMU to be very forthcoming. Just call and ask if this is the case and if so, while you may not find out your admissions status, at least you will understand what's going on.

Good luck..

that stinks, i go to Kingwood High and i got in with 1160 SAT and top 15%, then again our school is more competitive and im a baseball player. (notice we're ranked better than yall in the city HAHA)

cool, yall have a pretty good soccer team but football's where it's at. whats your gpa for kingwood to get you in the 15%? and when did you get accepted? can't wait to rape yall in lacrosse too haha

wait kav? you go into UT too? holy crap man chill.

and in your other A&M post you said you were ranked 211/871 that's like 24% how'd you raise so quickly? and i still cant believe you got in w/ a 3.45 and 1160 man congrats.

I got accepted, but I still haven't received my Now that You've Been Accepted manual. It has been like 9 days.

And sorry to go off topic, but is TAMU a diverse school? I was searching throught a college review site, and most of the reviews kept on mentioning that TAMU was a rascist school.

fax? what are your stats?

Tamu's not as diverse as it could be, but I think its just because it attracts millionth-generation students etc and not because its actually racist. Trust me- theyre dying to get that off their reputation

fender- i was under the impression that A&M had no EA but was just rolling admission (or at least rolling for top 10%), out of state and non-top 10% might not be notified until late March / early April. Texas should really end top 10%, it's only hurting the schools like UT and A&M.

on a side note, i'm not from the Houston area (i'm in DFW), but it's funny to see kingwood/woodlands students argue about who has the better sports teams. I run cross-country, and everyone around hear idolizes the Woodlands mens' cross-country team.

It's the "my master planned community is better than your master planned community" syndrome.

whatever... those guys work harder than most people i know. reguardless of what sport their in they deserve the respect they get.

Not only Woodlands! Texas sports is just out of this world!

Im from Tyler and i got into TAMU march 15th with a 3.64 GPA/4 92.7 GPA/100, top 15% of class of 625, an 1160 on the SAT (650M,510V), and a pretty decent amount of EC's

My son (out of state) visited Texas A & M twice - once on the spend the day with the Corps last August, once on the spend the night with the corp, at considerable cost to us. He was told to apply early by Oct. 15 so he did. He hasn't heard a thing - he's not in the top 10% but has respectable grades (3.3) and a 1240 on his SATs, lots of extracurricular, etc. We've been inundated with calls from the Corps recruiting office. I can't believe they haven't notified him of his status but its very clear to me that Texas is not a diverse school, but is a school for Texas residents and they could care less what they are telling kids in the Corps recruiting. He's been accepted to VMI and The Citadel but his first choice is A & M but at this point I think the attitude in admissions stinks. To think he's put off these other great schools waiting to probably hear he's waitlisted or Blinn team would be too bad.

If he hasn't heard by now, isn't it likely he didn't get in?

I dont think it necessarily means that- you should definitely call the office and ask. Im surprised by your bad experience with the admissions office- they have always been more than happy to help when I've called, and A&M as a whole is famous for its friendly attitude. Dont give up!!!

They are always happy to give you advice which strings you along. It's ridiculous that they are telling everyone in the Corps presentations to get their applications in by Oct. 15 but then here it is the end of March and he hasn't heard a thing. The big problem I see there is that the Corps isn't involved in making admissions decisions about kids that are planning a career in the military. They've got ROTC dollars supporting their program and probably other govt. dollars but they aren't treating out of state students on the same footing. Personally, I'd prefer my son goes to VMI or even The Citadel but Texas A & M is where he wants to go.

I am suprised to hear that your son has not heard especially since he is going into the corps. When the corps guy called me he told me that I should hear in a couple of weeks and a 2 weeks later I was in and I was not even going into the corps maybe you should put in a call to whoever your son last talked to in the corps. Maybe they can find something out. But with your sons stats and all I would wager to say he is prob. in
