I check the application status website every day since January and I am becoming very concerned that I might not be accepted. I am a freshman in college and I was rejected last year when I applied to UMass Amherst. My SAT scores are what probably caused my application to be rejected. I do remember waiting until April sometime until they posted that I was rejected on the website. I have a 3.54 college G.P.A. now but I don't know if that will matter since they also look at the SAT scores. I applied to try to get into the Isenberg School of Management but I will be happy if I am accepted just for general admission.

I am a transfer applicant as well and have not heard anything yet. I have applied in October 2006 and have been checking online every day since November (when I got my confirmation letter). I e-mailed the admissions office and they say they start mailing out the decision letters in April. I have a May 1st reply date for another school I was accepted to...I want to attend UMass however it's keeping me on the suspense. I wish I can get a decision so I can move on.

I read what admisscouns said on your topic and I think UMass is sending out acceptances first to those in Community Colleges with agreements to attend UMass. It's unfortunate that we have to wait so long for them to respond back to us, but we really can't do anything...

I agree, like i said before I would like to know so I can make a final decision on my behalf. Called the admissions office today, could not get through...will try again tomorrow. It's understandable to get back to the Comm. Colleges with the agreements but still it's a long wait.
BTW you in state or out of state and what program do you intend on doing?

Im in state and hoping to major in either sport management or marketing. If I can't get into either of them, I will major in geography. I will call tommrow as well. I had the same problem last year as well when UMass made me wait to make a final decision to which college I was going to attend. I didn't have to wait this long however...

I called the admissions office 3 times today, all I got was "Due to the increased call volume we are unable to take your call". I was wondering if you happened to get through. I don't know, I may be considering taking the offer for Western New England College if I don't hear from them in a week, I have a May 1st reply date for them if I miss it I'll problably be in a jam.

Yep, I called them twice and I got the same thing. Try waiting one more week and maybe even consider asking WNEC for an extension on the deadline.

I will try again Monday. I want to see what they have to offer (financial aid, transfer credit, etc.) if they will ever make a admissions decision for me. If I don't hear from them by Wed. then I'll talk to WNEC to see if they can hold the reply for me.

The first transfer accept letters started going out on Friday, with a June 1 reply date for transfers. Transfer admissions were delayed due to an unprecedented freshman application pool. Right now the phone lines are full with freshman callers, but leave a message and a counselor will get back in touch. (Also, community college students did not get reviewed first.)

This is good news to hear, at least progress is being made. Hopefully I will find out about my status this week!

Gex-
I was wondering if you applied for financial aid, and if you did you recieve any conformation from them? We applied in early Feb. and I didn't hear anything, so I was just wondering. I'm sure their backed up with that as well. Still no decision on the webpage (4/23) and I'm at school right now and I have no cell coverage here to use my phone to call the admissions office right now so I will have to do that tomorrow.
Best of luck-

Yes, I applied for financial aid back in Feburary as well. I think they would only send out the financial aid info if you get accepted. I also just tried calling the admissions office twice today but I keep getting the same recording.

Still nothing on the webpage...so we're back to square one. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow I'm going to talk to WNEC about an extension to my offer.

Hey Gex, they finally took my call (They forwarded me to an admissions counselor's voicemail). Just wondering if your still trying.

I got through also yesterday. The person said they can notify anyone between now and the middle of May.

Well I better talk to WNEC about an extension! They problably have to wait until the May 1st reply date for the freshman to see how much room they have left. By the way when did you send your application in? Sent mine in Oct 2006.

They processed my application on Jan. 29.
