I heard from the internet that we would hear by Jan 31st? Does anyone know if that's true? Does Dean J have any insider info on how long it will take? Is there any chance that we will hear back by mid-December, like normal EA schools?

Also, on Applying to U.Va., Admission Information, Undergraduate Admission, U.Va., it says we need supporting documents for in-state residents by Nov 1st. Was that not covered by the supplement? What exactly does that entail?

Thanks!

Yes, the posted EA notification date is January 31.

Dean J verified this on her Blog in the comment section in September.

RD notification has been a few days early the last couple of years so you may see something slightly earlier then 1/31 (hint, Friday’s after 5pm are traditional). Mid-December would be way too early in my opinion. Dean J always keeps people updated and will post on her blog as soon as she can share anything (about anything ). I would recommend ‘subscribing’ to the blog so you know you are always up to date with accurate information. There’s also a nifty search function to help you find if she’s already covered what you are looking for.

Supporting documents for in-state residency are sometimes requested when you fill out the supplement. If none were requested don’t worry about it (for now, I assume they reserve the right to ask at a later time if they have a reason to.). Not everyone has to send in supporting documentation for in-state residency consideration. We didn’t.

Best of luck.
