I was wondering when we will be able to update our UC Apps because i changed some classes around for Spring semester!

Also I am hoping to transfer to UC Davis but i am worried that i may be a borderline student. I have never received anything lower than a C in any of my UC transferable classes but i have gotten quite a few B's, I have gotten more A's than B's but i was wondering if they will look down on the fact that i have alot of B's. I have never gotten straight A's in a semester, (i am hoping to do so next semester) and was wondering if this will hurt my chances. I am a Psych major and have gotten all A's in my Psych classes but B's in my Bio and Math reqs.

Your help will be much appreciated!!!
Thanks!

Shouldn’t matter too much as long as your overall GPA is around 3.2. If you don’t have a C in a prereq. class, I think you should be fine. Would be even better if you have some E.C’s, good P.S, and other accolades.

One of my pre-major classes for sociology major at UCSB said to take statistics, I got a C in that, other than lowering my overall GPA does it hurt me more??

I think a “C” in Statistics for Sociology will only seriously hurt you at UCLA and most likely Berkeley too. But I think you’re fine for UC Santa Barbara, Matt. What was your GPA lowered to?

Is that considered within my major?? Because it’s completely unrelated to sociology, but UCSB places it on assist as a pre-major requirement, but UCLA does not.

It brings my cumulative GPA down from a 3.34 (if I got a B) to a 3.25 (current)

And major GPA from a 4.0 down lower if it’s considered a major course which I don’t believe it’s related to sociology at all.

Yes, statistics is considered within the major. For UCLA, you are required to take one introductory statistics course. For Berkeley, you are required to take either Introduction to Statistics or Introduction to Logic.

UCLA does require it as a pre-major requirement: “The
Sociology Department requires that you complete all major preparation courses
except Sociology 20 prior to transfer.” Sociology 20 is Introduction to
Sociological Research Methods.

And Statistics is used in Sociology…in upper-division courses… O.o
