Hi all. My S applied in mid-September. Any idea when he should get a decision? Has anyone else received a decision yet? If so, when did you submit? Thanks!

I have no idea what will happen this year, but I can tell you our experience last year to give you an idea how things went then.

I think OSU’s official position is that within 10-12 weeks of applying, but no sooner than December 1, they will begin admitting people on a rolling basis.

My DD submitted her application on October 31 last year. On November 10, she was admitted to Ohio State. November 10 seemed to be the first day anyone found out about their application status.

Nessats, Thank you, that helps set expectations a bit.

My D applied September 1st and it is pretty agonizing waiting to hear! She has been busy with Honors/Scholars essays and just submitted Morrill so that kind of helps. She is applying to a lot of schools but I think her heart is set on OSU.

Any word yet? It’s almost Nov 10th…fingers crossed for your D, my S and for us all!! We thought the application process would be the worst part, clearly the WAITING is!! :)

Has anyone heard yet? My daughter applied September 11, I think. Still needs to finish up the HOnors/Scholars app though. I feel as though the pressure will ease up, at least a little, once she hears from OSU. Good luck to everyone!

Not heard anything yet. Status still says evaluation. The agony continues…

Nothing here either…ugh!

I actually don’t recall anyone we know receiving confirmation before Dec. 1 within the last two years, regardless of when they applied, although I’m sure there are some few exceptions depending on circumstances. Most starting hearing around the 3rd or so. It’s hard to wait, but I wouldn’t stress if you haven’t heard anything. :)

Actually, I know two people who found out last year on Nov. 10. I know they say Dec. 1st but they have notified earlier. You can read old posts and see that several people confirm this.

My son got his acceptance in mid-November last year and the Honors invitation a week later, well before Dec 1. Honors is different this year…you have to apply.

Friedpasta, as I stated in this thread that my daughter found out mid-November last year. The same thing happened in mid-November the year before that. However, BearBuck’s post made me think of something. My recollection from last year’s thread (where people posted when they were accepted) is that most (but I don’t believe all) of those accepted prior to December 1 were also Honors students. Since you now must apply to Honors, rather than the Honors program inviting you, that may change how and when they notify people this time around.

Last November, we attended Honors and Scholars Day on November 6. It was at that event that we were told by more than one person that they would begin notifying people in mid-November, and sure enough, notifications started going out just days later. I do not know if there was a similar Honors event this month, but if there was, it would be interesting to hear from someone who attended if they were told anything about when OSU would start admitting people this time.

Nessats, we attended think buckeye and honors scholars session on November 4th this year and were told they were going to start releasing decisions next week…that would have been beginning November 7th.

Each day I get a little more worried since my D applied Sep 1st. But she has been invited to different events, encouraged to apply for honors and scholars and I don’t know why they would waste their time on her if she wasn’t going to admit her. Still, every day makes me more nervous!

It says on college board that OSU will start notifying people Nov. 15th this year. Those are for the people that did rolling admissions.

I think the information on College Board is not very current, it also states the application fee is still $40.

and so Nov 15th has come and gone with no word…LOL

This is very hard.

Daughter’s status just changed from ‘evaluation’ to ‘admitted’ this afternoon. Good luck to all!

I just checked. I’m accepted!!!

Admitted! Such a relief!
