When Will We Hear?

I’m in!! I didn’t realize how stressed out I was until today. Congrats to everyone else!

She is in!! Whoohoo! We need to start an official admit thread!!!

Congrats to all! Those who have been admitted, where are you from and when was your application completed?

My daughter is from rural Ohio and she applied on September 1st

It has been a long wait. I am crossing my fingers for you Nova.

Thanks mspearl…Congrats to your D again! My S applied mid September and we are from NJ. Our wait may be a bit longer. Hopefully, worth the wait though, just like you!

Congrats to all admitted, D just checked and she was accepted too! She applied Sept 11th and we are from the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Cleveland area, too. Applied in mid-September.

My son was admitted. He applied in early Sept. We are OOS Georgia. O-H-I-O

Admitted!
OOS in texas, but from Cincinnati
Sent from my MB502 using CC App

My daughter (OOS Maryland) was admitted.

She submitted her application in mid-August.

Congrats to all accepted!!

Still no word here :frowning: A student from my S’s school was accepted last night, similar stats to my S, but applied 2 weeks earlier and has an alum parent. Looks like early applicants, IS, Honors applicants and legacy replies coming out first, which makes sense…

Nova, I think in state students too. Two other girls from my D’s hs were admitted. One is 4.0 act 32, the other is about 3.8 act 26. I think it helps that we come from a very rural community with a much lower % going to college. Also a lot of first generations. My husband has hs diploma and I have my assoc. degree…I guess we representing the trailer folk. Lol.

Stay strong!

Oh, sorry, IS mean in state right?

mspearl Yep, IS is in state. You made me smile, thanks! I’ll keep you posted.

In the past it seems that honors/scholars, early applicants, Appalachian hear first. Don’t be concerned if you haven’t.

(FYI, legacy doesn’t really mean much at OSU anymore. We were told this at an orientation some years ago - which resulted in some angry parent responses - but I didn’t believe it; however, I’ve had good students every year who were not accepted to main campus although they had alum parents so I’m finding this to actually be true, at least around here.)

Friedpasta, I sent you a pm. I think we are from the same area! Amish country, appalachian county… :)

Still in the “evaluation” phase, a few people from my school have been accepted. Hopefully I hear something in the next few days. I sent the application in September 16, 3.8GPA 26 ACT.

Nova, I am crossing my fingers for you! My D best friends status still says evaluation. I guess they had around 10 kids apply and my D and only 2 others are admitted so far. Some of the remaining students have awesome grades and solid kids. Don’t know what is going on. The only difference is the 3 who were admitted have the highest act scores . I think OSU is soooo numbers driven. And with your S being oos it may be a longer wait. Also being a boy makes it more difficult I think because they get more male applicants. Don’t give up.

mspearl, Thanks for thinking of us and for sharing the info you have. Quite a few kids applied from my S’s high school too, only reply so far was an accept for the boy with alum parents. My fingers hurt from checking status so many times a day! LOL Keeping the faith though, thanks for the encouragement :)

If I turned in the application a few days before the deadline (Oct 28), will I be the last to hear? I don’t know how that all works. I’m from out-of-state, 4.2 GPA.

carebare94
Hard to say. Many of us on this board have been in that evaluation mode for over a month. Those who have received a reply tend to be in state, have alum ties, are honors candidates or are URM. With a 4.2 GPA and assuming the rest of your application is as strong, you may hear sooner than others who have been waiting and may not be as strong statistically. Best of Luck!

I wonder if any decisions will be released this week and weekend with the holiday? Any current students or parents on this board have experience from last year?

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
