When will we hear?

Lawrence is technically more of a safety school for me, but I really have fallen in love with it. I have yet to visit (I live in NYC), so I am hoping I will have time to visit. Just wondering if we will be hearing sooner rather than later.... (details on a specific date would be wonderful)

My son got his acceptance letter on Saturday (3/22), we're in Mass, near the NH border.

D got her package on Saturday also. We are in NC.

got my email on the 19th and the package yesterday~ really happy, though it seems more or less of a match, i love it.
err...i live in China, so...

Anyone has any idea when will they send their decisions to the international students?? Will they notify us by email or they just send the decisions through the snail mail?? I am just freaking out!!!

Edit- Ohh i didn see the previous post.. so does that mean the other internationals are rejected if they have not heard anthing yet??

I too havent heard anything yet!!!

I just got my package on Monday, 3/24. I live in NM.

omg, if sm int students have already received their letter it must mean we havent gotten in (the one's hu didn't get it) !! as far as ive heard, they send acceptances in priority packages ! :( !

First class, for domestic anyway.

my son was waitlisted
SO CRAZY
I mean he was accepted into the business program at Seattle University
he was accepted at Case Western
I thought Lawrence was a shoe in ... why would they wait list him ... what kind of student are they looking for? Obviously not him. I'm not upset but just wondering how this sort of thing happens

iwaveatcows, we are local to Seattle U, and from what we know, Lawrence is simply harder to get into than SU (accepted students at LU have higher stats, LU is more selective, etc.). Plus, this is just a crazy year for all schools, with a lot of good students receiving unexpected waitlists and rejections from schools they may have thought were "easy ins." Best of luck to you.

i guess the reason i was so suprised because they (Lawrence) was the one school that told my son they didn't care if he took the ACT or SAT or not. That taking the test was not required. Obviously he took the test. He has great grades and goes to a prep boarding school. That is just why I found it strange. But my son was not going there for the music angle and maybe that is why they skipped him.

Did you visit? You're previously stated that your son wasn't all that interested in Lawrence, it's possible they could tell.

My son's not into the music thing either, yet he was admitted, with good SAT scores, but only OK, not stellar, grades. I think expressing interest has been really important this year. Every college he's heard from had a record applicant pool...many of those applicants don't really intend to go, though, I'm sure. There are kids applying to 20+ colleges! We're in Massachusetts and DS visited Lawrence last summer. In fact, he visited, toured and interviewed at, every college he applied to (8 in all), though none were less than 400 miles from home. I think that expression of interest made a big difference, he did far better, in this year's ultra-competitive environment, than any of us expected given his academic record.

The colleges don't want to be rejected anymore than the applicants do, among a group of applicants who are otherwise equally attractive, they'll be more likely to choose those they think will choose them.

well, it really depends on the student. Some people love it here, some thinks its name is not big enough, some just wanna finish college, and of course the con is excellent.
Every college has its good and bad, so far I think LU's good > bad. Also, if you're considering state school against LU, I don't think I would choose a state school over LU, (unless you're in California) IMO LU is on Par with Madison and Ann Arbor, just much much more smaller.
I have a friend that even chose LU over Darthmouth explains that for him LU is comparable to Darthmouth.(well he paid much lesser here of course)
Cheers future Lawrentian~

does ne1 kno if they emailed international students ??? i hven't received ne emails from them yet !!!

i got my notification through email and i was accepted, Tam, so i reckoned they do email international student. just wonder when the package will arrive though, it's been more than a week.

I havent recieved anything yet.. Seems they are not emailing the rejectees :(

well, it's already april 2nd anyway, i think you should ring them and ask. i got my notification on 3/25 and received the package 31/3 (they sent it on 27th). But i believe whether or not you're in, they will at least email you.so gluck

@van_do : i received an emailed acceptance too !!! still waiting for the package tho.......do u plan on attending lawrence ?

@kapil90: a friend of mine received her rejection by email :S mayb they're emailing in batches ? area wise ? or according to smth else ?

I emailed them yesterday and asked them about my decision and they said that they still have not received my complete application.. They said my teacher evaluation and school reports are missing and they would re-evaluate my application if I send them those.. I was like what the hell?? Why couldnt they have said that earlier and how come they miss only those stuffs?? I sent everything in one packet so they must have received everything or nothing..
What do you say?? Is it worth sending the missing papers at this point??
