<p>When you say you know your professors well or that they know you, how close a relationship do you mean, exactly? I am extremely shy (I was actually tested for social anxiety disorder, and they told me I have it), so I have a hard time getting to know professors, and I'm a little worried about asking for recs. </p>
<p>I try to ask questions after class and come in once in a while for office hours, but I'm not sure what else to do. Any advice/insight would be fantastic.</p>
<p>well what i did.. i aced every single test up to midterm, and my professor started noticing my academicality (whatever, i like making words up). Having done that, prof would pick me for illustrating conceptual things, and i'd go after class to ask question... just thing like that.</p>
<p>so yeah. if you stand out in class, either through participation or academics, prof will notice you and it'll go smoothly from there.</p>
