When...

When should I schedule an interview with an MIT EC?
I know I can find this information online but I was wondering if there was
an optimal time to do your interviews...?
I've just started my junior year.

Thanks!

Interviews aren't generally conducted until you're actually ready to apply to MIT - if you're planning on graduating a year early and applying during this cycle, you should schedule an interview, but otherwise, you should wait to get interviewed during your actual application cycle.

Yup -- fall of your last year in high school is when you should have your interview.

There's no point in scheduling an interview with an MIT EC unless you're also applying. If you interested in learning more about MIT or speaking with members of the MIT admissions community, MIT has a very active and unique admissions site including blogs at MIT Admissions where you can post questions and interact with other HS students, MIT students, and admissions officers.

Thanks everyone!
I went to one of MIT's info sessions last night. :) It was epic, and awesome and inspiring and filled with good music by the Logarhythms.

”geologistsrock”… another hopeful EAPS major?! :D

maaan that was supposed to be a positive smiley face “: D”
whaaat

Plus, they recommend that you only schedule an interview after submitting Part I of your application. This is really easy to do (Part I is just personal data), and the earliest you can do it is right after the application is released in early August.

Keep in mind, however, that interviewers (mine included...heh) might not be totally in the mode for interviewing that early in the fall. I contacted mine in late August, but he said that he was busy and thus to contact him again in mid-September, which I did.
