Makes it really really difficult if you live far away and would like to take another look before May 1...

Well UC Santa Cruz had an update last week and released decisions yesterday (according to a friend of mine) so maybe this update will foreshadow a release for next Saturday...

i wanna see my decisions !

can we see decisions in the site?
i thought it was only available through mail

i was just searching through the website and found this...

Students will be notified of their acceptance to BU by April 1, and they must accept by May 1. The University will admit about 4,200 freshmen to the Class of 2012.

link: Class of 2012 Breaks BU Records | BU Today

Dude the admission rate is going to be so low!

That number -- 4,200 -- it's the number they expect to enroll, not the number they expect to accept, I assume?

Those stats were very encouraging, though somehow I suspect that everyone who applies to BU has a 3.5 GPA and a 1250 CR/M SAT score (hell, mine is 1430).

Whoever wrote that article simply has poor diction: he meant to say "The University will enroll around 4,200." Collegeboard.com says this about BU:

Total undergrads: 18,733
And!
Percent applicants admitted: 59%

With that in mind, I find it extremely doubtful that, after just one year, BU will shrink its class size while at the same time expecting 100% yield. So don't worry: probably around the same number of people will be accepted.

Is BU everyone's first choice in this thread?
BTW, i dont think admission will be too harsh this year.

BU is essentially my first choice. I applied to some reach schools, too. However, my top reach school is NYU, and honestly, I think BU and NYU have so much in common that even if I did get into both I'd have a hard time choosing (especially since NYU financial aid is legendary for sucking).

this school is pretty much my first choice school. the only thing that will stop me from going here if i do get accepted is the cost. i doubt i'll get much in financial aid and even if i do i'm sure half of it will be from loans that i have to pay back. hopefully i get into my other OOS school, which is much cheaper, so i at least have a chance of leaving florida :[

I will go if I get the trustee scholarship. Does anyone know when those come out?

No idea when those come out =/

BU is DEFINITELY My #1 choice..
I think the only way I wouldn't go is (obviously) if I got rejected, got accepted with no financial aid (which is unlikely because of my SAR results), or got into UCLA because my parents would basically force me to go there...

But BU is definitely my dream school.

BU and NYU are my dream schools! I am now starting to like Boston more now since they are better about giving financial aid.

won't lie, BU is my safety

Still, I'm pretty anxious about finding out. Plus, I'm gonna hear from almost all my schools on essentially the same day (±1 day)

CNI: "I will go if I get the trustee scholarship. Does anyone know when those come out?" You will find out with your admissions decision, according to the admissions rep we spoke with.

kevster: you have to set up a web account in order to access your online info, including app status and financial aid status, and yes they do notify online.

BU Applicant Link

BU is like my #6, but I am wondering if I got a free-ride with the MLK scholarship, so that owuld affect my decision.

remark - yes, I have an account. i never knew we could check acceptances online. ack!

BU's not my number one...but is still being considered....funny how I see so many people from the USC threads here...lolz

My Uncle is Head of Chemistry Department at BU and I talked to him yesterday and he said notifications will be sent to internationals by email on the 26th and RD's on the 30th
