If an applicant, applying EA, did Part I of the Georgetown application in July, how soon would you anticipate their alumni interview to be scheduled?

I called in, and they said that they are currently scheduling them right now...even though in a letter they sent out over the summer said that if you submitted your Personal Data Form before Sept, your interview would be this month. oh well

I sent out my Personal Data Form in August and just got my interview info in the mail.

Vango - Is the location of your interview relatively near your home?

whoaa... I can't believe you got your interview info. That's a little nerve wracking, seeing as I sent my Personal Data Form in August, too.

I guess it's gotta happen sooner or later though :D

I got my slip today,
I called him and we have to match our calendars...
He has like an all oput website that came up when I googled him!
Also, he wants to do a phone interview...
which I found quite curious

i'm actually worried because i haven't received anything in the mail but i sent my data form in early sept.

when is the deadline for the interview if we're applying ea?

I have not sent in my EA stuff yet, they should get it around Oct 15. am i correct in assuming that after i turn in my application, i will get some sort of notification from Georgetown directing me to contact someone in my area to have an in person or phone interview?

Met Fan - That's the idea, though I'm not sure about the face-to-face or telephone interview aspect having read ego's post. Egoms, is your interviewer geographically near enough to you that you could meet face-to-face if you wished, or is the person far away?

i just got my info slip today for me to contact my interviewer and i sent in my personal data form in august.

my interviewer lives super close its about a 5 minute drive, just down the street from one of my best friends which i thought what kinda funny.

any tips on what to say when i call them?

sorry about that edit i messed up

gadad: i called to schedule my interview and the woman said it would be best to come this saturday at 10 am so thats what i'm doing. and yeah shes only lives 5 minutes away

Thanks h.s. We're in a small town; I'd doubt there'd be a trained interviewer near here.

mine lives in a suburb of my town. i've yet to call him though. any suggestions?

Yup - relax and have fun. According to Princeton Review, the interview is, at best, only the eighth most valued admission factor there.

so i called my guy and left him a message yesterday because he didn't answer. should i call him back or wait for him?

anybody else have their interview yet? i had mine on the third :)

I got a response back saying that I should wait for a response, and if I don't get one in three weeks that I should say something. The thing is, in three weeks, I'll have to snail mail my person, and I'm afraid that I won't be able to meet her until after the EA deadline. WIll it still be okay?

Same situation - my s mailed his EA application in August and he still has not heard.

how did the interview go? did you take anything? what did you do to prepare?

it went really well. we sat in her living room, she asked me pretty standard questions about my education/family and about my goals and why georgetown would help me get there. no big surprises or curveballs.
i took my transcript, but there wasn't really a time that called for it so i left it in my bag. and, when she asked about my school newspaper that i'm the editor in chief of, i dug around in my bag til i found one.
to prepare: don't prepare :) the more nervous you get, the less "you" you'll be. just be polite, presentable, and genuine.
