Where are decisions posted?

On the UC app status page, it says "campus decisions will not be posted on this site." Where ARE they posted then?

Also, is this the site used to track UCLA and UCB apps? cuz I don't see another link in the UCLA confirmation email. MyBerkeley is a different thing though right?

I'm pretty sure they post decisions on MyBerkeleyApp. Granted, it's been almost a year since I was accepted, so I can't tell you for sure.

also, this is a stupid question probably, but where it says "highest official scores reported," that's the scores they actually have officially filed, sent directly from the collegeboard, not the ones you self-report below, right? BC i updated my scores yesterday, and today under "highest official scores reported," they were also updated; didn't know if that was just from what I typed in, or if they actually had already received the new score report.

MyBerkeleyApp should post the Berkeley decisions on that site. I don't know how UCLA does it, but they said check back there when decisions are posted.

I'm not sure what you're asking for your second, but I'll try my best.
The UCs don't care what scores you list. They will receive the official scores from Collegeboard and decided based on that.

Wait, Berkeley's site displays your score reports?
I only saw an app. status box...

(They post decisions at the end of march)

myBerkeleyApp posts your AP scores in the middle of the summer when they recieve them but not before that, unless it's changed. I can, however, tell you for sure that mBA is where the decision gets posted. Unless, again, it has changed.

No, on the UC status report site it does though

At the end of March you go online to myberkeleyapp, log in, and the decision will be right there. Come back to cc as time gets closer, because everyone's on line and belive me you'll know the second they're posted. I printed out mine so I can keep it forever. In fact, my computer froze -- I was so afraid of logging out and logging back in and finding they'd made a mistake!

haha, that sux. at least they didn't make a mistake though! how do you like Cal?

ps..did you get one of those really nice admissions letters? when my brother was admitted in '05, they sent him one of the best ones i'd ever seen.

cal does send a pretty fancy one. i threw mine away though. didn't see the point of keeping admission letters.

The admission letter wasn't half as good as USC's, but it was nice nonetheless. vc08, I would read the original post on the "How to Get In and What To Expect When You Get Here" thread, because it provides a lot of insight into what Berkeley is really like. Every word in that original post is true.

Worst part was when CC froze as decisions were coming in -- arghhhh!

I love Cal -- everything I expected and more. Kinda hard to adjust at first, figuring out telebears and schedules, things like that.

Yes, I kept my admissions letter -- all of them, in fact. Cal sent two last year, one on white paper and another one on cream paper. The words on the creamed paper were beautiful.

I think most of us have the "Your application has been received and is In Review
Decisions will be available the evening of 3/27/2008"

but someone i know also have the :
Forms

Letter of Recommendation
The information you provide is important for us to evaluate your application and can only enhance your chances for admission.
Applicant Questionnaire.
The information you provide is important for us to evaluate your application and can only enhance your chances for admission.

The check mark means your forms were submitted and received. You may continue to make additions and corrections to your forms after the deadline; however, we cannot guarantee that your revisions will be reviewed.

so you know what that means?

the letter of rec thing is weird. sure it was Cal, not USC or something?

def: read it, some interesting points, and some unusual ones, far different than the views of other Cal students I have talked to. But overall very informative. Thanks for the tip.

Sorry vc08, I'm just speaking from my own experiences. There are so many undergraduates at Cal that you can't really classify one typical experience. Good luck!

rainynightstarz - sounds like that friend is being asked for supplemental information, both a questionnaire and a request for a recommendation letter. I have heard that UCB will do this with some small set of applicants, presumably when they are ambivalent about offering admission. Stronger candidates aren't asked; unfortunately, neither are the ones where a rejection is obvious. It is only for the razor's edge cases.

Yeah first I was freaked out that I didn't have it ( it thought it was for regents or something)
Then I asked a current regent student. he said for regents they just set up a interview in feb-march ish, no rec and etc.
and he mentioned it might be the possible candidate for spring term.

Does berk practice AA?

I doubt that is the reason, my brother was admitted for the spring term and never had to send in a letter; he is probably just very, very borderline, or they wanted better insight into his character or something.

No, none of the UCs practice affirmative action anymore; the ethnicity part of the app is not sent to admissions officers.

No, Berkeley along with all the UCs, CSUs and Community Colleges is prohibited by law from looking at Race in admissions. It was a voter passed proposition in CA.

now we are suspecting it might be some alumni award since he had a summer program at berkeley.
