Where are the band geeks/Orch Dorks?

So I'm a band geek. First chair Clarinet. Double on Tenor in jazz band. I'm in Music History this year and took AP Music Theory last year... oh and I'm a member of my school's drum line.

We don't have marching band at my school, but I might do it in college. (Still contemplating.)

Anyways... Who else is a band geek/Orch dork/Chorus geek? =)

ORCH DORK represent! (:

Orch dork!
I’ve been playing the violin in orchestra since 5th grade, and I’m a high school senior now. I’m in my school’s advanced orchestra and chamber orchestra.

ORCH DORK!! :D

been playing viola since the 6th grade.

AUGirl - My son is passionate about drumline - he wants to go to a college at which he can compete for a snare position in a big-time marching band. The South Carolina band would probably meet with his approval!

Orc dork? Oh, yeah, the one who wanted to dissect the hobbits instead of eating them.

Band geek AND orch dork (: first chair tenor sax in marching concert & jazz band and first chair bassoon awwww yea

Hahahaha I’m an orchadork. I’ve been playing the violin for 9 years. I’m doing some stuff for the pit orchestra for our school’s musical too, so I guess I’m somewhat of a band geek. Kinda.

Violin since 4th grade.
It’s my hell and heaven.

Wacannisay.

Orchestra!

Violin since age 6 (and piano since 5, but that’s kinda-ish irrelevant for an orchestra).

Admittedly, I’m more a mock trial nerd than anything, but my orch dork status comes in a close second.

We don’t have orchestra at my school, but we do have a violin in my band. XD

Band geek here, I play clarinet. I’m currently debating taking it to college; I don’t absolutely love playing, but it feels weird to just completely give it up. A pep band that doesn’t meet *too *often would be nice.

My school has a marching band but it’s pretty terrible, to be honest. Everyone in band is forced to be in it so most people are really bitter about it just because they have to be there. Plus the uniforms are ugly and itchy…

Yeah. I get the weirdness with quitting.

I don’t know if I want to continue clarinet in college… I kind of want to, but my college’s lowest band only meets in the spring, so I’d either have to make their 2nd or 1st band (which is crazy insanely good) to play in concert band in the fall or I have to do marching band… It’s a hard decision. =/

You could always look for community groups. A lot of churches have small ensembles who perform at services throughout the year.

First chair flute in my school, and in the state youth orchestra? Yeah you know it.
Kind of sad that I’m going to give flute up in a few months, but no big deal I suppose. Love the instrument, but it hasn’t been that influential on my life, and I don’t really love playing.

Haha, I’m sure eight months from now I’ll be having a complete break down about not playing the flute anymore. So predictable/boring.

Band Geek! I also play the clarinet, but since I’m a freshman I’m currently 5th chair, I’ll be third next year, and 1st the next… just need to get rid of those dang seniors and juniors! Haha, and I do marching band as well, I love it! I’m not sure if I’ll continue in college or not, but I’m considering it.

Band Geek here <3
I’ve been playing clarinet for four years. I don’t take Band anymore but back in the day I was 1st chair clarinet. :)
