<p>hahahahaha this is probably the most enlightening thread ive read on all of cc. wayyyyy better than all the lists of parents posting their kids stats to brag that they got into harvard. I feel ive taken away some life lessons.</p>
<p>Also MITHopeful, while it’s understandable that you’d like to wait for the right woman to come along, I do think it’s best to get out there a little and get some experience before delving into a life-long relationship. Hook up a time or two; casually date a time or two; or have a serious relationship a time or two; or any combination of the three! But I wouldn’t just wait around for the right girl… especially not for 10 years. Engineering and computer science are awesome, but there’s more to life than academic work. If you don’t realize that, then your happiness level will be sure to remain low for the rest of your life.</p>

<p>Lol I realize this may be a little late, but I can’t sleep and am super bored.
So I think you guys should leave MIT alone, just let him do what he wants to do, and don’t look down on him for choosing that. I think it’s kinda cute actually. I would rather hang out with a guy like him than some jerk who just wants to get in girls’ pants. Plus, my parents had never even kissed anyone else before they met each other in college, and they fell in love and married at 23. I think it’s actually very sweet, not sad, because they have never gotten their hearts broken.
And just to add background, I’m 16 and have never had a boyfriend, but I’m definitely open to it. Call me naive and unexperienced, but I don’t think that MIT is in the wrong here–maybe science and academics are super fun to him (okay, obviously not as great as sex, but to each his own.) By the way, MIT, I’m sure you’ll fall head over heels for a great girl before 26. :)</p>
