Where are you from?

I'm from Georgia! Is there anybody else from the South or am I the only one? =)

I'm from possibly one of the worst areas for NYU prospective students - central. suburban. NJ. -_-;

samee, except northern NJ

baobab why do you feel that way?

Florida (so South also)

nyuparent - I remember going to NYU during one of those open house tours during October. The presenter (admissions committee rep) asked each one of us to stand up and tell us where we were from, and what our prospective major was. About 8 people in (who were all from my county and the neighboring county) the ad com rep chuckles and says..."Did I mention NYU takes pride in geographic diversity?"

When we were through only one person didn't live in NJ or Long Island - Amherst, MA.

Also, last year my school produced about 10 or so NYU students. Tons of people around this area apply to NYU.

Baobab oh i see what you are saying!!! My S applied ED and was accepted and we are from central jersey... but he felt the same way.. said he wished we didn't live in jersey!! I am sure you will be fine :) good luck!! :)

Thanks - I kicked myself silly because my classmate, who got lower #'s than mine (yet more leadership positions) applied ED as well and got in, not to sound haughty but I felt confident but I didn't realize the enormous pool I was going to compete against, where it's basically a crap shoot. I didn't apply ED because of uncertainty about our assets and contribution - ah well, c'est la vie. I got into Rutgers which I appreciate so I won't die I suppose :]
