psmyth000, congrats on LSE. It's such a great school. What is the application process like for British univs, especially for LSE? What exams do you have to take? And do British Universities offer any kind of finaid to internationals outide the European Union?

maxy,
u need to fill out an UCAS form.
I didn't apply to LSE but applied to Cambridge and Imperial College. I was accepted at Cambridge but Imperial turned me down because they have a 13yr educational requirement which India doesn't offer.

Cambridge also needs u to fill a seperate form for their referance. If you can visit the place, i would urge you to attend the Interview and also take the Thinking Assesment Test, tho both are not required by non-British applicants.

But as such, Cambridge doesn't need a seperate exam. They also accept SAT scores and TOEFL scores.

As for fin aid...its rare for British univs to give large fin aids to int'ls outside EU.

ASP, so the British Universities accept SAT and TOEFL...wow that is something new...I always thought you need A-levels with which I am not familiar with anyways. Now I regret not applying to LSE...crap.

Yes they do accept SAT and TOEFL (u needn't take IELTS, u can substitute it with TOEFL) ...there's an option in ur UCAS where u choose ur qualifications under which SAT-1 and SAT-2 are options.

Also, A-Levels is not a requirement...for example UCAS lists CBSE Indian syllabus (the syllabus i did) in their form as an option.

What they value a lot is your SOP and Head-teacher report. Nut from what ive come to believe, i moight be wrong here...British univs give Academics VERY high priority.
