Beloit Buccaneer '10 (Wisconsin) Other acceptances: Cornell College, Knox (Waitlist: Carleton, Mt. Holyoke) Remarks: Didn't give me the most money, but they increased my financial aid after I asked for a revision so it was comparable. :D I got to know incoming freshmen and current students so I'm feeling the vibe with them! Also psyched about attending a LAC so I can do some theatre. Being 90 minutes away from Chicago doesn't hurt either! ;)

maxy: Regarding UCAS application, it's rather heavy on external testing (and interview if they request) and a rec. I did UCAS last year, got accepted to some. Kinda sucks on how if you're not done with your high school exams, you get conditional offers so you feel the stress throughout. laughs One reason I prefer the American system. They base it on four years (or so) and take faith on you that you're going to end your senior year well. (Unless of course you bomb so badly they rescind your acceptance.)

Thanks. I actually got in to LSE for a Masters degree. I already have an undergraduate from Ireland. As far as I know the British Universities accept the SAT as well as several other international exams such as the IB and the Leaving Certificate (Ireland). As far as financial aid for overseas students they do have it for international students on the graduate level but no idea about undergraduate.

looking ahead. Cornell and Swarhmore turned me down. I turned down WashU, ConnColl, and Wesleyan.
in retrospect, turning down a college is akin to a college rejecting you...and i realise how hard it must be to do so!
