Where are you in AP Bio?

Where should a typical class be in at this time???
Our class uses Campbell's 7th edition, and we're finished with Unit 2.
Is that about where we should be??

We just finished photosynthesis, ch 10.

oh okayy. then im guessing my class is a little bit faster.

we’re just starting chapter 10…

We’re going to start chapter 10 tomorrow, but my class skipped around and so we’ve already done chapters 11 and 12

no one is finished unit 2?? wow our school must be fast…
how many labs in the manual have u guys done?

3 labsssss

My class skips around. We’ve done chapters 1-8, and 11-13. We’ve done 2 labs and will be doing the third lab Friday.

Hew… our class spent one whole week on the Lab-1. We just finished Lab-11,12,2, and 1 with respective chapters.

wow already four labs??

were taking our chapter 11-15 test on tuesday then being ch 16 on thursday

We did Environ Sci first so that was roughly 8-9 chapters.

Now we’re on Chapter 7, but we’ve done a lot of labs so far (I’m thinking 5-6).

I’m loving AP Bio  So interesting! It’s time consuming because we have to extensively outline all the chapters and turn it in for a grade (and now we have to make flashcards of all the vocab) but the class as a whole is not overly difficult.

We got evolution out of the way (or one - two chapters of it anyways) and in lecture we’ve just finished up chapter nine, though we have yet to read it in our homework. We’ve done two AP labs.

wow i guess every AP Teacher has their own syllabus for teaching.
i’m finding AP Bio difficult, maybe cause i dont like the parts we covered.
hope it gets easier!!

How fast are you guys moving? We had our Chapter 6 test yesterday, started Chapter 7 today, and are having our Chapter 7 test tmrw… I thought the teacher was joking at first.

if you’re using Campbell, I think our class is going at a much faster pace.
we’re done with unit 2 (~CH 12)
and we’re covering Mendelian heredity (ch 14-15)

it just might be b/c our class doesn’t take ch tests.
we only have unit exams.

^ We covered a bunch of chapters at the end of the book at the end of the year so we’re on our 20ish chapter or so even if we’re only on chapter 7… I just meant 2 tests in three days seemed really fast

We have finished ch 50-55, ch 1-5, ch 8, ch 17, ch 6, and ch 7 in the campbells book.

wow… then we’re going slow i guess.
maybe it’s cause our school year starts very late.

my class is on photosynthesis (chapter 10), although we did chapters 50-55 over the summer. i’m really concerned about our progress… by the midway point through the year we should be around chapter 25. but with less than a month left to cover new material (taking into consideration that the ch 10 test is next week, thanksgiving break, christmas break, and midterms) there’s no way that we’re going to get anywhere NEAR fifteen more chapters in there. maybe two to four, depending on how much he goes over them.

with this lag coupled up with next semester’s, PLUS the fact that the AP test is in may and doesn’t give us the entire semester to learn new concepts, we’re going to not be anywhere near finishing the campbells textbook. oy vey :(
