where are you in AP US History?

I have the feeling that we are a little behind. We are beginning the Civil war after we come back from Christmas.

We just hit the turn of the 20th century, just finished corporations and that stuff. But I have the slower of the two teachers (there are three AP History classes this year, because that many people qualified on the entrance exam), and the faster one is done with World War 1. My class is already going faster than normal as it is, but the other teacher is moving at an insanely fast speed. I actually question whether or not they're learning though...

what?! that means that we are really behind:(

dont feel bad...we're starting the Civil War in January also...I think we're moving at a steady pace...I've gotten a full understanding of what he has taught.

I remember last year we hit the beginning of reconstruction around this time

No you're not behind at all! :P

we're finishing up civil war tomorrow, the day before break. we only have like a test every 4 chapters so we dont waste a lot of time on quizzes and stuff

i took APUSH last year, but this year I have AP econ in the same room. today the board was scribbled with a few notes in the post civil war time period

uhh...

my CLASS is about to start the Civil War but I've gotten to the Roaring Twenties already by doing self-study

ummm we just finished jackson

Wow, guess my class is doing pretty well, and it's not like we don't learn it. Haven't had a single kid in more than 3 years get less than a 4. Good luck to all!

Looks like my class is the slowest. We are just finishing up with the War of 1812 and the decline of the Federalist Party. Any suggestions for ways I can self-study for the test in case my class doesn't adequately cover all of the information?

Wow. We ended last year with the civil war. We are at Progressivism right now (early 1900s).

Are you guys using the American Pageant?

richard, i think the difference is that our classes are geared toward finishing all of American history in one year, whereas you seem to be taking two year-long American history courses.

We took U.S. 1 as sophomores which went through reconstruction, and then this year we started over from Columbus era and plan to go through Clinton.

just finished the great depression. now we're on world war II.

Our test on the Civil War is tomorrow. We're using a book by Alan Brinkley, "American History - A Survey" and we occasionally read a little Howard Zinn...good stuff...

Tranorix, we're using the same book.

richard- that's the book we are using.

im having a test tuesday on period between jacksons rule and civil war (exclusive). We use wesley longman, American People, and Stampp's book, peculiar instiution.

we use enduring vision. however, our teacher is soooo bad (talks about his social life everyday and have no notes and hw!) so basically we (as in the ppl who want a A) self-study. in class however, we're at reconstruction
