Where are you in Calc AB?

I'm taking it right now and just wondering where you guys are at. Right now, we're doing concavity and calculating minimums/maximums. We just finished derivatives. So far I'm having no problems.

Well we’re not completely finished with derivatives I meant. Just the basic derivatives (like inverse trig, trig etc) and through all the rules (chain, product, quotient)

Same here, just started trig, but my teacher is tough marker.

Yep, my teacher’s rough but I’m doing great. Just started trig? Like finding the derivatives of it? Please me a little more specific xD

We are on antiderivatives/integrals. Basically the opposite of derivatives :o

were movin along pretty slow, still gettin through derivatives.

We did Newton’s Method today and will be doing differentials tomorrow. We’re using the Larson/Edwards text, so we’re on 3.8/3.9. We’re taking the chapter 3 test on Friday and will be moving into antiderivatives next week.

I have the slower teacher. The other teacher is halfway through Larson chapter 4 (basic integration). The BC kids are wrapping up chapter 4.

I have an A- average now and still another chance or two to bring up my average this quarter!!! just finished basic derivatives (chain rule, quotient product)

starting chain rule

it’s soooo boring, too bad my school won’t let me skip

We just finished the chain rule and are working on implicit differentiation right now.

Just finished implicit differentiation; did linearization today.

Yeah we did implicit differentiation. Bored? Haha how are you bored in calc?? Okay so it seems we’re doing good at my school =] Sweet.

i got a detention twice for sleeping in class. plus my teacher’s voice is soo monotonous, which doesn’t help my cause

We just started integrals and antiderivatives. I actually like them better than normal derivatives, strangely.

i’m currently learning half derivatives on my own. really interesting stuff. feynman was a really a genius.

I feel like you guys should really get out more.
Also, @ Sonic, the majority of the applications of calculus lie in antidifferentiation. It is a far more complex process than its inverse.

we are doing antiderivatives as well as the chain rule…it seems like most of us our pretty much on the same page.
What book does everyone use?
My school uses Forester.

Larson 8e 10char

Although im not in the class(but pay attention to what my friends doing in the class), school uses eighth edition Larson. Calc AB class is on limits and will finish it next week. My school goes on the block schedule, so by the end of this term, class will finish application of derivatives. They will start integration fourth term. I don’t know how the class going to finish all the content before the ap exam. Look like students in that class have to self-study the material.
