So where will you be living during dorm rush? I'm just curious (about hall/floor/entry as well as dorm).

(Also, last year, when I was on campus for hall rush, I met k4r3n2, and recognized her by the info that she had posted on last year's version of this thread. :))

I was placed into New House 3, which was my second choice after Next. To tell you truth, I haven’t gotten to experience New House at all except walk up and down the stairs to find my friend during CPW. But I ranked it second based on websites, brochures, and the i3. I was kinda disappointed that I did not get Next.

East Campus, 2nd East - my second choice after Random. The statistics for readjusting into Random don’t look promising, but I won’t be unhappy with EC as long as I can get the right floor.

@phoenix: I currently live in Next House and I really love it here. The people are super friendly and the dorm is pretty social. I really like how it’s really easy to go from one wing to another and just hang out with basically about anyone here. (Last year I divided my time between about 4 wings!) As for facilities, I think we have really nice ones. I consider Next dining to be the nicest of all the dining halls. Not only that, I feel like people are more inclined to eat in dining and socialize that the other dorms (I’ve eaten at ALL of them, including NW35) so it’s a really nice place to chill, relax and socialize. I also really enjoy the bathrooms at Next. We have actual doors (instead of stalls/curtains) on all our showers and toilets so it’s a bit more privacy. We also have an athena cluster, a weight room, a laundry room, two pianos, a country kitchen, as well as hotplates in all the wings.

Hope that helps! Definitely ask me more about Next if you have questions. Be sure to explore all the dorms during REX to find your best fit! (Of course I hope that will be Next but we all want you to find the best fit for you so you can have the best time here at MIT :])

I got into the Phoenix Group (NW35), and to my knowledge there were less than 10 spots open to the class of 2013 for the lottery. I put it as my first choice

I’m in Next House too! I think the facilities are really nice, and the people are friendly! Join the facebook group: [Next House '13 | Facebook](Facebook)
