Where can a freshman transfer for second semester?

I need to get out of my college! I hate it. I hate it with every fiber of my being. I am going to my state school, because I thought it would save money and I wanted to live at home.

Well my mind is changed. I need something new in my life. I need new surroundings. I need to be around intellectual people! I want to transfer out of here to a way smaller school. It doesn't have to be a liberal arts college, but somewhere with the big fish in a small pond feel. I don't like the party school mentality. I am much more focused on learning, having intellectual discussions, and having fun in ways other than beer pong and dorm room parties.

I feel like I am wasting my life away. I am making straight A's this semester, but I don't know if that is enough to get in somewhere decent. My high school GPA was average, as were my SAT scores - but I AM smart.

Where could I transfer as soon as possible? I'll take Christian schools, I'll take anything. (Not somewhere crazy though.) And if I can't transfer this quickly, are there semester study abroad programs I could look into? I just need to get out of here!

Where are you right now?
You shouldn’t be letting the college you are at right now, bother you.
You should be calling up the schools to see if they take Fall Sophomroe transfers because most of them want to look at your second semester grades.
Concentrate on your freshmen year, it’s important!

I’ve known someone who was miserable miserable first semester freshman year, and took a leave of absence for her second semester. During this time, she studied in Israel and applied to schools for her sophomore year.

Plenty of schools take second semester freshman transfers. Just keep in mind, you will be judged nearly completely on HS performance, so you’re limited to schools you could get into based on your High School performance.

Contact a couple of the schools that accepted you for the Fall 2009. They should have your information still in their system and one of them may offer you a transfer slot.

Fill out and submit some transfer applications to schools that you would have likely been accepted to based on your high school stats and SAT/ACT scores.

You have time to get all of this submitted but you have to work fast. Start your transfer apps now and contact the schools that you initially turned down.

Thanks for the help. : ) I realize I was being a teensy bit irrational; but now I know that if I really do NEED to get out, I can just talk to the schools that accepted me and see if I can get in.
