I myself have good and established credit. I have a score of around 700+. My parents will co-sign as well just to make the rate lower. Where can I find the lowest rate for a private?? All I've been able to find is 9% and up! At that rate, I might as well just use my parents HELOC which fixed rate is 6% and the other one is 8.5%.

Citibank offers the CitiAssist Loan, with no loan fees, a low interest rate, no payments due while you are in school, flexible repayment options afterwards, and borrower benefits.

I really don't recommend you get them to co-sign. Its a bad idea. A few interest points, is not worth the possibility of destroying your parents retirement.

Using the Heloc is another bad idea, as the rate is variable.

The rate for our HELOC is fixed.

Any other suggestions?
