Where Can I Get Accepted!?!?

I am planning on transferring schools at the start of the Fall 2009 semester, but I am having a somewhat difficult time selecting which schools to apply to for transfer. So far, my list is as follows (I may not actually apply to every one of these schools, though):

Claremont McKenna C; Colorado C; Cornell U; Northwestern U IL; Pitzer C; Pomona C; U Chicago; Vanderbilt U; Washington & Lee U; and Whitman C

Here's some information on me: I am a second-year honors student at a major southeast public university with a 4.00 GPA studying biochemistry. I volunteer six hours a week at the university's affiliated medical center (ER, Day Surgery). I play basketball about 12 hours a week and intend on trying to play at my new school - I'm not quite good enough to play for my current school's team, as they are in the nation's top 15. I am a resident of Tennessee. My high school statistics:

SAT: 2060 (660 Critical Reading, 760 Mathematics, 640 Writing)
ACT: 30 (28 English, 31 Reading, 32 Mathematics, 28 Science, 10 Writing)
GPA: 3.95 (about Top 10% of the class - my high school does not release official statistics on it)

I also was National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Honor Council, All-District Basketball, etc. in high school.

I'm just curious what types of schools I should apply to; am I going in the right direction, or should I change courses? Am I competitive at the aforementioned schools? What are some better options?

you are competitive at most all of the schools you mentioned. What about adding Upenn, Emory, and John Hopkins. There are a little more selective but I think you stand a chance.

sounds like you are definantly on the right track...the schools above that are more selective than the ones you mentioned might be pickier about youre ec's and sat's...but you stand a chance at all of the schools that you mentioned, in my opinion

With the list as is, you will definitely be in at Pitzer, and stand a good shot at all the rest. So this list, with Pitzer serving as a safety, it entirely within reason. Best of luck.

Thanks for the kind words so far guys... So, in addition to adding Johns Hopkins, Penn, and Emory, what are some others good 'reach' schools to add to my list?
