Where can I get in, I am so lost ... though no Ivies since that is unreasonable for me

Because the OP has not indicated which colleges (if any) are in commute range (and whether commuting costs could be significant), and has not received any FA or scholarship offers, s/he has no safeties yet.

Perhaps @firstgencollege can clarify which colleges are in commute range.

NJIT’s NPC assumes that living with parents costs $7,300 “room and board” and $6,300 “other expenses” (commuting included?) (these are $13,600 combined). For comparison, the on-campus numbers are $13,900 “room and board” and $4,100 “other expenses” ($18,000 combined). NJIT’s living with parents assumption is probably very high compared to what a low income family actually incrementally spends having the OP living there as a high school senior, although that actual amount is not $0 as is commonly assumed here (especially if commuting requires the family to get another car due to poor public transit options).

@firstgencollege “Because Swarthmore requires only twelve courses in engineering for an Engineering Major, students are able to easily double major in four years without taking overloads. ” Its program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Probably you have seen this: https://www.swarthmore.edu/engineering/faqs The Information is helpful to relieve your concerns. A student with broad interests fits into the type of students they are looking for (“The ideal Swattie values humanities, the natural sciences and engineering, and the social sciences as lenses through which they can learn and grow.” https://www.swarthmore.edu/admissions-aid/apply-to-swarthmore). Show your interests in liberal arts in your application.

Ok.
