I currently attend TCNJ and would like to transfer to a school that is better and preferably in the northeast. I want to study finance. I believe my gpa at the end of this semester will fall around a 3.83. With that gpa, where are potential places i could get in?

High school grades were average so I’m hoping for a school that doesn’t look at them
I am about to complete my first year

well id actually be applying into the spring semester or waiting the full 2 years. Sorry i didn’t mention that. And I probably can’t afford the expensive schools but many schools would offer high amounts of financial aid. Im just looking for names of schools I should look into. Many schools don’t look at hs grades if its after a year or two.
Most schools don’t give merit aid to transfer students. And some schools do look at HS records with less than two years of college complete – it depends on the college. Your best bet may be staying put as TCNJ is a good school.
Stern would most definitely be a reach. Plus they only accept transfers for the fall semester. And NYU is notoriously bad for financial aid for freshman and likely is even stingier for transfer students.
Would you say a college like William & Mary is out of the question? Im assuming anything known to be better than NYU, in general, not just finance, would be borderline impossible then?
Likely W&M would be another reach. But instead of throwing out different schools, you should do your research – personally I’m not super familiar with how many transfers different schools accept. And how would you pay OOS rates for W&M?
The issue is that transfers get lousy aid even from generous schools that meet need.
You need to plan to transfer for Fall 2018 and in the meanwhile contact 'meet need’universitied to see Wat their policy is regarding lower income transfers (do they meet need for transfers too?)
