What good colleges do I have a chance at currently? And what colleges do I have a chance at if I bring all my SAT scores to 700+ (assuming that I will since I am prepping pretty hardcore). Please name anything, I am still in the process if looking into colleges with no set choice yet.

thanks for your time!

Um.. any college?

Okay well to start with

Penn State, Rutgers, New York University, Northeastern, Tulane, George Washington and some other 30-50 Usnews ranked colleges would round out your reaches/matches/safeties.

If you get a 2100-2200 SAT I would suggest taking top 20-35 of usnews and applyin to all of them. 15 collegs.. maybe take out 5-7 that you don't like.

If you get a 2400 just take top 10-20 of usnews and apply. GL.

thanks, anyone else?

bump.........

how about these schools?

UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, USC, NYU, Tufts, Wake Forest, Emory, Rice, JHU, Northwestern, Yale, and any of the lower ivies.

I live in CA and I think I am getting ELC (top 4% of class). Also minority status.

Reach:
UCLA
UCB
USC
Rice
Emory
JHU
Northwestern
Yale and Ivies

Match/Reach:
UCSD
Tufts
Wake Forest

I would suggest some more safeties. Most of the schools you listed are very competitive. However, if you do improve your SAT scores, I think many of them will be matches. But you would still need some safeties.

assuming I can get my scores to the 700 range in everything, which of those would be reaches / matches?

and as of now, worst case scenario, what are the best match / safeties? class size does not matter.

Jimmy2588:

UCLA: Reach
UCB: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCSB: Match
USC: Reach

If you improve your SAT's, you'll have a very competitive application and a reasonable shot to almost anywhere.

thanks for all the responses, anymore would be excellent.

Penn, Brown = more reachy than matchy
Duke, Emory = more matchy than reachy
UVa, u of texas, wisconsin, U of chicago = match
U of illinois uc = dunno but i heard it was a good school

bump......

could someone post the US news list? I'm too lazy to sign up.
