im' an asian(with an american citizenship), graduating from a Korean high school.
could anyone suggest any school that's renown for biology and is a match with a 2150 on the NEW SAT??

my other stats :

GPA : 4.0(our school, a magnet school, doesn't rank)
EC : 4 yrs straight of student government activities
captain of the drama club->chosen as the best club of the year
3rd degree black belt in Tae-kwon-do
other miscellaneous awards
APs : none(ugh!!) Well...it's kinda obvious considering the fact that i'm attending a Korean high school:-p
Work experience : None(Dope!!) the social concept of a working student isn't friendly here in Korea, so it's virtually impossible to work while attending school .
community work : around 100 hrs
recommendations : excellent. very favorable
app essays : very creative and unique

my initial response would have been "dont even entertain this guy. he knows that his situation isnt desperate." but i have no idea of how hard it is to gain acceptance into american schools from korea

With a 4.0 if you are at the top of your class I would say your range is everything right below HYPS (other Ivies, duke, etc) at the best and at worst a place like Emory is a safe match.

I'm also planning to go to college in the US from an ordinary public high school in Korea (I've graduated, actually :P) and I'm planning to apply to the UC's with 2110 on my SAT score and a 3.7(something) GPA.

I wasn't planning to go through this all my high school years (you might guess that I've slipped on the Korean SAT) so my EC's seem to suffer a bit (we had MANDATORY Ya-"Ja" hours!).

I think you might have a better chance than me, although you might find that all of your volunteer hours may not fit into the blanks of the application forms if you've worked in lots of different places.

I would also recommend Stanford (although I do not know the exact chances for admission).

My mother ranted on me for my low SAT scores. : ( (Did yours?)

oh..plz don't get me wrong^^;;;
i'm sorry if anyone who read this thought i was being arrogant
there's absolutely no offense
nothing's wrong with my SAT scores...actually they're the right scores for my abilities
the main purpose of my post was finding a match school for me cuz the information about U.S. colleges is very limited here in Korea(the biggest disadvantage : we can't visit schools), and i'm like the only one planning to study in the states in our school
so THAT situation was what made me 'DESPERATE'...not the 2150
i would have wrote the same post even if i had a 2350+..THAT'S how DESPERATE i'm trying to find the right school for me
again... i just want to say sorry to anyone of you who felt bad

anyway, i'm still open for replies^^(and thanx jpps1 aquafina9000 slipper1234 and tessa5d)
