Ok this is serious. Are there any pet stores or something that rent pets?
Or at least any that have cats you can play with?

Basically what I’m asking is, how does one get access to kitties.

weirdest question on cc
but try volunteering at an animal shelter. it should be much more rewarding than renting.

"weirdest question on cc"

^that.

No because I must supply them for someone else, not myself

That is a weird question.

We have a couple of annoying strays hanging around you are welcome to. But I don't want them back.

really, where?

You could come over to see mine, but you have to feed them and clean their littler box to cover the rental fee.

Advertise that you want to take care of cats when owners go away? Then you can make $$$ and play with cats at the same time?

The thing is i want cats just to bring over on campus for someone to play with them with from time to time.

Hmm but that might actually be a good idea come to think about it

I am guessing that it would be frowned upon at most colleges , but many rescue orgs and shelters will take volunteers.
We go visit our Humane Society ( no kill shelter ) once in while. Some of the permanent cats are free to roam, but the others who are either too frightened or adoptable are caged. The cats are usually pretty happy to have some company.

this is quite odd - makes me love Brown even more though, haha.

I found this place Animal Rescue League in downtown, anybody been there? Do you think they would just let you hang around?

Or if anybody has cute sociable kitties and is willing to lend them (for small periods of time - like a couple hours, or more) instead of leaving them alone or something, please pm me, I will pay and take good care of them.

humane societies will let folks "foster" kittens til old enough to be adopted--you might try that...

Negru, I find this post quite adorable! It wasn't so long ago that you were very angry about something, and each post you made seemed more and more irate. Now you are asking to play with some kittens! How cute is that?!

actually i think what is really happening is more endearing.

seems like negru wants to get the cat to impress someone else? maybe a lady friend, hmm?

unless i misunderstood this quote
"The thing is i want cats just to bring over on campus for someone to play with them with from time to time."

Haha busted

Well yes someone asked me to bring cats

a)homeless cats on the street
b)pet-sitting buisiness
c)climb into an old lady's window and steal her cat
d)ask the old lady if you can borrow her cat
e)go to MIT

Hahahahaha!!! This makes my day. Many romances have started over little kittens. It works. :)

I really miss my cats sometimes. Yes, PARL (the Providence Animal Rescue League) will let you just go and play with the cats. Or you can sign up to be a volunteer there. The Brown Med/Downcity shuttle gets you pretty close.

^ Yeah, do that, and then you'll just have to... er... catnap a couple of them.

it takes days for cats to adapt themselves to a new environment. your plan probably won't work since they won't be willing to play with ya.
