<p>I'd recommend holding off until you actually start college, both because of the student discount and because (in my opinion) wearing college apparel around high school is kinda lame, and can sometimes even be seen as showing off.</p>

<p>penn kid here: i dont agree with the not wearing stuff argument, i think if you get in you deserve to walk around sportin your school colors!! i mean its easier with penn, because people think its penn state/never heard of it before but still, id say go buy a LOT of stuff this break!!</p>
<p>even now that i'm a freshman at Harvard, i hardly ever wear harvard stuff at home. i mean, i'll wear it around the house, but if i'm going out, i cover up the logo. i find that it just draws too much unwanted attention, especially when i'm in a hurry. but around cambridge and boston, i wear harvard stuff all the time.</p>
<p>Lol, some people wear them, too for fun (Boston souvenirs, maybe?). Today at work, I see this person with a Harvard sweater. I was bagging his groceries and asked, "Are you going to the local student/alumni party this Thursday?" He responded, "Oh, I never went there."</p>
