From my experience, there are a lot more scholarships out there for in-state than OSS. Example: if you were an arizona resident, you’d be eligible for the Barack Obama President’s Scholarship (This is something new, so I’m not sure that it works for OSS. If it does, good for you). This guaruntees pretty much that high-achieving students will have their need met (it meant a tuition hike for everyone else).</p>
<p>But basically, you need to have your one in-state school that’s your safety, then you can apply to “match” schools (like OSS or USC-type schools), where aid isn’t guarunteed even if you get in, and apply to a few reaches, that may or may not be likely to meet your need, but that if they came up with the funds, you’d definitely go to.</p>
