...or you could have ignored it. whys it so hard to scroll two inches down to ignore the lists?

Please, get that stick of your ass. OR. you could just go away-

Out of state people - never think SoCal as the "perfect place." Thank The OC for that and what Hollywood has been projecting the image of SoCal as the utopian society. Crap that. Downtown is pretty dirty. Pretty crowded and it's not uncommon to see Carl's Jr Big size soda cups rolling over or flyers on the street (like many other downtowns, i believe)

True, there are beautiful places too. Santa Monica's a good place to go. UCLA is truly in a good location, embraced by trees and all. Truly, West LA is pretty. Now USC is in a pretty bad location. Very dangerous, blah blah.

Weather's good. I hate summers. Sometimes it gets to dry. But still, LA is known for crime and pollution (smog)

Actually, more crime occurs at UCLA, Stanford, etc. than at USC. It's probably because UCLA is public property; bums off the street can wander on campus, and nobody has the power to stop them. But it's true, you can walk right off UCLA campus and be surrounded by beautiful streets and shopping whereas the USC neighborhood consists of working-class families and student housing.

Sorry, this is incorrect. I will refer you to the fact that UCPD is a state police agency with police powers throughout the state of CA (in other words, a legit police force unlike U$C public safety), and the CA penal code section 602 to prove that your statement is not true. UCLA's campus is actually private property (the hospital is also a private hospital) - shocking, isn't it?

Furthermore, if a student reports a vagrant on-campus, UCPD WILL respond. I should know, I worked with OCH and dealt with vagrants all the time.

I don't know that it's true that UCLA has more crime than USC. Let's compare the two campuses based on the 2004 figures-

UCLA
USC

It seems that the only figures that are higher at UCLA are burglary and liquor law non-arrests.

Either campus seems pretty safe to me.

USC has one of the safest campuses of all colleges in the US due to the fact that it's located in the heart of LA, USC becomes more aware of faculty and student protection. Well, outside is a different story.

For some reason, everyone I know that is not from SoCal thinks that ALL of LA is ghetto because of movies like Boyz n The Hood and Menace II Society. Also I guess in ERs and stuff Doctors call gun shot deaths "LA naturals". Some people I know from out of state were concerned that I wanted to go to UCLA because they thought it was "near Compton". I said, "no, it's about 30 miles away". They still thought that was scary. They don't know that 30 miles in LA might as well be halfway across the world.
