And I said wry amusement because it explicitly said the buyers were amused but only kinda hinted at them ‘feigning innocence’. Both are correct in my books, but amusement was stronger.

wow wierd. for me i found two instances of explicitly stating feigned innocence…but then again im known to randomly make things up

why would the buyers be wryly amused? when they lie to people they arent being ironic, they actually hope viewers will believe them…however, the guy is wryly amused because well…they are pathetic.

conciliatory means to reconcile so it’s %100 correct

^ the buyers were wryly amused because they requested the little pranks in the paintings.

I guess we’re going to have to wait and find out on the amused/innocence one.

conciliatory means to reconcile so it’s %100 correct
This isn't about whether or not he solved the problem. This about his composure in the time of crisis.

Once again, I'm 100% sure on this one. I know I make mistakes, but this is not one of them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feigned Innocence and wry amusement was a tricky one.
I'm 90% sure on wry amusement because the passage directly implies the buyers were amused, but nowhere does it directly state that they pretended to be innocent in any way.
ummm what? they most definitely did not request those tricks-- the whole paragraph was the guy laughing at his customers
I’m pretty sure its imperturbable, because it was talking about him being calm and it said that he was known for his calmness right?
oh i just thought of something-- when the painter was talking about how people lied about the paintings, he said “They would be wise not to.”
and im also pretty sure that its imperturbable- what melody and thequestionmark said
he was known for solving problems i thought
Please be wry amusement… please please please… funny, I got 78 on CR PSAT but that section KILLED me this time around… I don’t get it at all!
i think im going down from my cr psat too =[
i think i already got 4 sentence completionss wrong and no clue how many passage based i got wrongg
i deff got one wrong. and 3 maybes (3 maybes- wry amus, conciliatory, knowledge about birds)
i did the wry amusement, conciliatory
what was knowledge about birds?
it was the painter one. It asked about that story with the two painters (one painted grapes, the other painted curtains) and i put the one painter was more knowledgable about birds
Not conciliatory + the answer was that he was jealous.
Since the old reading thread died, I’ll explain the jealousy part. Two key words “affected” and “brooded”
does anyone remember the EXACT wording of the conciliatory question. cuz i have now idea why they would specifically say that the person solved problems if the person was not conciliatory
ohh right i put jealous
those words do not equal jelous
