Where did the Valedictorian at your high school end up?

Amazing colleges, thanks for sharing! @WhataProcess

Aw, thats an phenomenal story! @momocarly You sound like a terrific mom and a great student!!! Hahaha

2017 Val at DS’s school - Georgia Tech, other honor grads 4.0+ students - Yale, Georgetown

@writer80 Yes, Las Vegas
I don’t know, obviously he went for the full ride, but it was a very unexpected choice!

Haha yes, that does seem unexpected!!! @planner03

Our valedictorian is going to Georgia Tech next year.

Valedictorian is going to UIUC (kind of a shock considering 20+ other people got into HYPSM + ivies). Salutatorian is going to Northwestern.

Last year, valedictorian went to Carnegie Mellon and salutatorian went to UChicago.

Our highly competitive public school had the valedictorian attend the following schools in the past few years:

SUNY Buffalo Honors, Princeton, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Hobart and William Smith, RIT

2017: Val: WashU Sal: OSU

2016: Val: OSU

2015: Val: OSU

2014: Val: Duke

A lot of people end up at Ohio State just because it is a decent education for a low price, and the majority of these students are going on to grad school and so are saving money for grad tuition.

This year’s Val at our HS is headed to Princeton, along with a recruited athlete. This is interesting because Princeton hasn’t taken a kid from our school for many many years.

Last year’s Val went to the Naval Academy. Never applied anywhere else.

UPenn

Johns Hopkins

S17’s school:

Valedictorian-Yale
Salutatorian-Cornell

According to my son, the salutatorian was a multiple Harvard legacy (parents, sibling, grandparents) and was rejected. Lot of kids ended up going to Cornell in his class (8 or 12, can’t remember offhand).

Our school’s valedictorians usually end up going to HYPS

2017 the val ended up at UC Berkeley and the sal went to theater school in England (where she’s from)
This year the person we expect to be val got accepted ED to Rice and the person we expect to be sal got into MIT.

Stanford.

S’s high school:

2015 - Princeton
2016 - Princeton
2017 - MIT

2017 Val- Boston College
2017 Sal- Boston College

We had someone else who was in the top 5% get into Brown ED and we sent a few more to top 20 schools

Can’t wait to hear where DD2018’s class Val/Sal pick!

Recently learned:
2016’s Sal, who went to Brown (hated it), has since dropped out.
2015’s Val went to Baylor because of a higher merit package and his family is seriously Baptist.
2017 Val went to UT-A.

Our school rarely has an Ivy acceptance.
