where did you buy your bedding?

for some reason, this seems to be a lot harder than anticipated. Every time I go to Target, Kohls, etc, they're all out of XL twin bedding. And it's hard to find (not ugly) sheets and comforters online.

Recommendations/suggestions?

There are a few recommendations throughout the forum, such as [American Made Dorm](http://www.amdorm.com/) and [College Dorm Room Bedding & Twin XL Sheets by RHL](http://www.rhl.org/).

Here’s another thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/1343480-dorm-bedding-supplies.html

As for the physical stores like the ones you mentioned, apparently they are just now beginning to get their stock in (or will be soon), so selection isn’t as varied as it will be as the summer goes on.

Target is starting to bring in some new XL twin styles, including multi-piece sets. I bought a 5-piece set for $50 last week with a comforter, fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcase, and sham cover. The quality probably isn’t that great but the design isn’t too bad and I like the convenience of the set.

Just like you, I’m coming from out of state to NYU. I’ve heard people say that there are shuttles to and from Bed Bath and Beyond and K-mart during Welcome Week, but I’d rather buy my bedding ahead of time even if it means I have more luggage.

IKEA has nice bedding, but I’m not sure if they have XL.

PBteen has some great dorm bedding… also Bed Bath and Beyond is always a safe bet to find what you need especially if you are waiting til the last minute. If you have time to order, go with PBteen. You won’t be sorry.

Go to RHL, they’re the cheapest. I was looking at American Made Dorm and there bundlle is $100 more and includes less than half of what RHL includes. And PBteen is really expensive. Target should have more stuff coming in

Got mines at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The stuff is of great quality compared to that of most other places.

It may be a bit expensive, but like all durable goods, you’ll enjoy them for a long time.

I got mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I was very happy with the quality. Don’t forget to buy a mattress pad. =)

If you have Ross where you are,the XLs are being stocked now. The prices are good and I’ve never had a problem with quality. You could also try Homegoods or Marshalls. Both are cheaper than places like PB and probably Bed and Bath. All three I’ve mentioned carry higher end good at discount prices. We got D’s at Target and Walmart-they’re still fine a year later.

Macys Tommy Hilfiger has XL twin sets and also full sets with comforters as well. Alwyas on sale and cute designs. Well made, soft, high quality sheets.

Get into the later part of July and the earlier part of August and you’ll start seeing college stuff/back to school supplies popping up everywhere.

I got my stuff from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Love them.

I got mine from Kmart, online because the stuff I had seen in an ad for the store that year, was sold out by the time I got there.

Target. Mad cheap and good quality

I got my sheet set at Walmart for $20 and my duvet and cover at PBTeen. I bought my duvet cover on clearance for only $40 and the duvet for $70. It was a really good deal for the quality.

I chose a duvet since it’ll be easier to wash and I can change the cover if I choose too.

I got my bedding from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I went to the Beyond section. A few aliens marked it down 50%, so you should do that.

I got mine at Target. I’d suggest looking at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, but keep in mind that they’re pretty hit or miss.

My sheets came from target, one during a post back-to-school sale and one I found super cheap a couple months after in the clearance section. I had a down blanket already, and I added a lighter down alternative one, both from Khol’s. One of my pillow is a memory foam pillow from Sam’s Club I’ve had for a while, and I picked up a cheap Wal Mart pillow as a base.

I’ve seen some good bedding at TJ Max and Marshalls at good prices. Target is awesome, especially if you can find random clearance stuff like I did. Khol’s is fairly priced if you can play their pricing games. Most of their bedding is high quality, and my family buys ours from Khol’s. I’ve always dreamed about PB bedding, but I could never bring myself to spend $50 on sheets. Sales do creep up now and then, though.

On a side note, don’t worry about comforters being XL, twin will be just fine. Most college comforters are labeled twin/ twin XL anyway. Bedding companies are just trying to convince you that twin XL is huge compared to twin to get you to buy more blankets, but it’s really just five inches longer (80" vs 75") and the same width (38"). I remember reading a post on Yahoo answers that had someone asking if she should buy a full or a twin comforter because she couldn’t find a twin XL one. Full would be way too wide, unless you like giant blankets and want difficulties making your bed.

Through some ridiculous combination of sales, I got 2 sets of Twin XL bedding (pillowcase, flat sheet, fitted sheet) from Kohls online for a total of $18. And they were my favorite colors and comfortable. I think I also got my comforter from the Kohls website for around $30-$35.

Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Avoid RHL and American Made like the plague. Very poor quality. I ordered from them my freshman year and was ready to throw everything out by the end of the year.

If you have time, I agree that it’s often easier to order online. More options and a lot of stores have the option of picking up in your college town.

I’m starting grad school in two weeks and having BBB ship my new things (Had to order new sheets as I’m switching to a different bed size) to me so that I can wash them before I go.

Hey i have a question
