Where did you guys get in with a 3.5 :)

Hey guys I have a 3.55 weighted gpa 1850 SAT and I am currently applying to colleges. I have taken 6 AP classes and 1 Dual enrollment class. Please tell me what colleges you got into with stats like these or what colleges your friends got into ?

Preferably colleges in the northeast and ( I live in Northern Virginia) Also if you have time can you chance me at some of these colleges ?

George Washington University
William and Mary
Virginia Tech
James Madison University
Christopher Newport University
George Mason University

PS : ( A 3.55 gpa in my area isn't that impressive , in my school (Graduating class) there is like 200 kids with a 3.7 - 4.2 and above it makes me feel like I've accomplished nothing)

I think I have a 3.3 unweighted gpa and my weighted is either a 3.9 or a 4.0, my school goes by the 100 points scale so these are estimates. I have a 1770 SAT and I got into:
Emerson (Writing, Literature & Publishing)
Ithaca (Writing)
Lesley (Creative Writing)
I haven’t taken any AP classes, just honors. I think I got in mainly because of my essays and the short story I sent with my application.

What are you looking to major in? You’ve taken a handful of AP classes, what are your AP test scores? Your SAT is better than mine and I got into schools that I personally love. I don’t really know much about any of the schools that you listed but look up average GPA’s and SAT’s for accepted students to those schools, be sure to remember that these numbers are AVERAGES though. Make sure you have a good mix of schools on your list as far as difficulty to get into goes.

AP world history
AP us history
AP psych
AP biology
AP chemistry
AP language and composition

I want to major in Biology/Pre-Med and eventually go to med school (duh) :)

I recommend Pitt

Sent from my SGH-T839 using CC

I’m not really shooting for an out of state school for my first 4 years of Pre-Med , as you can see I only have one OOS in my list (George Washington). This is because I’m trying to save money because the cheapest med schools are around $50,000 a year. :|

My daughter’s friend is a freshman at JMU. She applied with a 3.3 GPA taking regular classes and had a 1560 on the SAT. She was deferred early action and got in regular decision. It was considered a reach school for her.

Really that’s great cause I’m really interested in going to JMU.

Yes - the guidance counselor told her she was applying to too many reach schools. She was rejected from most but got into JMU.

You have a chance at JMU and VT, a good chance with the others.

VT says that there average gpa is 4.0 which scares me a bit.

My brother had a 3.3 unweighted and a 1800 SAT and got into UCSB.

Med School would be awesome !!!
