boston college.

What the heck?

Lehigh and BC

Our valedictorian (not me) was waitlisted at Brandeis because she was considered too unlikely to go there. I'm guessing that's what happened to BandTenHut with Reed.

U-Florida.

Sure, the rigor of my schedule wasn't quite up to the average of their accepted students, but I provided a good reason for it and my test scores were well above their average. I appealed, almost just because I can.

Berkeley and UCLA....I got into Georgetown and Middlebury College, both of which are more competitive than either of those schools. I was an out of state applicant, I showed hardly any interest, and looking back my app was done with minimal effort. I guess in this case I definitely could have been admitted if I'd shown more interest and put more effort into my app ( / any effort)

duke, i wasn't hurt by stanford or MIT because they were pretty high up, but I thought duke was in reach. Waitlist, oh well

Georgetown... Like, I know it's tough, but everyone thought I'd be in there due to...stuff. WAITLIST. Worst part is, my best friend got in and we consider ourselves on about the same level, so you KNOW it was something intangible.

Baaaaaah.

Hey guys, hang in there! You are all great canidates elsewhere. Besides, it appears that most of us applied to a numerous amount of schools. I mean, some schools had nearly 40 THOUSAND students apply!
I even frantically applied to 5 other schools at the end of March even though I'd been accepted to most of the ones I had applied to! When I was wait listed at Miami, I paniced. I wanted warm weather like I have now so I applied to 5 more schools. Dumb, yeah, I know. I should be thrilled to be accepted that the schools I have been, but it STILL smarts a lot to have been wait listed at Miami.

I'm seriously thinking NYU (but cost is a factor if I live off campus) Boston University- I haven't even visited it yet, but will SOON. Maybe Penn State, seems to be a good balance between classes and social life. I was accepted at some schools I think might be a little too much work for me. I want a life too........ LOL

Rejected by bard and wlu, waitlisted denison even though my scores were just below the 75th percentile at bard and wlu, and in the top for denison. had a bunch of ec's, com. service, sports etc;
Still waiting for 3 more. This year overall more people are applying to more schools, and colleges are getting record number of applications. The thing that sucks is most people are applying to at least 5-7 schools, so many people who got accepted are going to turn the school down, or the schools accepted a disproportianed amount EA/ED.

I got wait listed at Lafayette, a decent school but not anything great, but I got accepted into Boston University, still pending CMU and Cornell, go figure..

My D got waitlisted at Denison. Accepted at CMU, URochester, Case Western, UMich, Penn State Schreyers, Pitt Honors as well as a couple of other LAC's. I suspect that not interviewing (although she did visit and tour the school) and not responding to the notification about the Denison honors program created the image of lack of interest. She did have several discussions with the track coach and he wanted her to come. Who knows?

Rejected by McGill and Brandeis..and NYU waitlist :/

Yeah I didn't interview either.

Stanford, and JHU, go figure, i got waitlisted at JHU but i was kinda sure i'd get in, oh well, it wasn't my top school anyway.

Boston University! I was so MAD!

sorry dreams.............

I thought I would definitely get into UVA.

Got waitlisted. =/

Rejected: GWU
Waitlisted: Brandeis

my two match schools. but w/e

I think that this year, there have been a lot more wacky admittance rates because colleges are taking more into account whether or not the student will attend, so they reject the higher qualified ones. Last year my friend got waitlisted at WashU but got into Harvard.

I'm kinda annoyed at a Uchicago waitlist. My essay for them was amazing. >:O

UCSD. Doesn't matter though, I got into UCLA.
