Wait so are they going to put up a new transfer center somewhere?

the old transfer center was easily the worst building on campus.

they're not building a new transfer center, rather they're having transfer floors/sections in the new buildings. The new buildings are just waaay to big to dedicate one to a new 'transfer center'

Gomestar that is ********.

I live in the transfer center and this building is amazing. Sure the facilities suck, but that is not what I am talking about. We have a great community here and I am going to be very sad to see it go. The new buildings could dedicate a wing for 200 transfers, or give up a small gothic building. They gave the Language House Baker Hall, why not do the same for transfers.
When I looked at the sign up for the housing lottery there were about 60 slots in one hall reserved for transfers in Alice Cook. I suggest incoming transfers apply to live there. It will be a smaller transfer community, but at least you will be together.

i lived in the transfer center too ... for longer than you have.

if you'll take the tough task of reading what I wrote, I never knocked the social aspect of the place. In fact, i always suggest that all transfers live in the transfer center, in particular for the social reasons in particular.

"Sure the facilities suck, but that is not what I am talking about."
well that's what I was talking about. What I said was that the TC is among the very worst buildings on campus, and this is why they decided to knock it down in favor of the larger cluster-style dorms that are currently being built. I'll make it more clear next time...

The transfer program is moving to Hasbrouck, but there is no more transfer center. Cornell Housing still hasn't promised us anything after the transfer housing situation after next year, so we are still fighting for either our own building or a large section of a house that is currently on West Campus.
