where do i fit? transferring from brazil to US

I am currently a major in Economics from a good but not excellent university in Brazil and my grades are not good (around 6,5/10).
Plus, I will attend the courses of Advanced Macroeconomics and Financial Markets in the London School of Economics Summer School next month (hope to do well on those).
My TOEFL score is 106/120.

Finally I intend to transfer to some good university in US. What are my chances?
I know that my not outstanding track at college may disqualify me for a top-tier. But I would like to know if you recommend any good university that might accept me.
In addition, could great grades at these courses in LSE make up for my bad grades? Is there anything more that I can do to compensate the weaknesses?

Thanks in advance!

How many years in college have you completed already? Would finances be an issue?

i am in the 3rd year, out of 4. But i don't have any constraint regarding time. It would be ok to attend 2 more years of college abroad.
Finances are not an issue.
What I care is going to a good university, however I know that is tough to get into the top ones.

I was asking because most good colleges don't accept transfer students that have completed more 2 years of college elsewhere.

I am a little bit confused about you being in the 3rd out of 4 years right now. I assume you know that if you apply for transfer in the upcoming months, you would not be able to enroll until fall 2009? Wouldn't you be just about finished with your degree at that point? Why do you want to transfer now (= in a year)? The other option would be to finish the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree at your home college and then come to the US for a Master's or PhD.

yes, finish your bachelors in Brazil, then apply for grad studies in the US.
