Where do I get the Stafford Loan?

Just wondering, but a Stafford Loan for about 2600 was listed as something I should take (and I plan to), but I'm wondering how I actually go about taking the loan. The university doesn't give it to me, so do I just go to any bank or what?

The stafford loan is usually handled through your school as they will send you some paper work. Contact your FA office for a more concrete answer. BTW, Congrats on Penn.

k, thank you sybbie719

Kid's school, CMU, does not process FA (PLUS, Staffords) applications prior to 3 months before 1st day of classes. If you send the application prior to 3 months, the application is rejected, and they don't tell that they did. We found out by experience.

Check with your school.
Form is real simple and can be downloaded. You just need to put in the name of school and the institution that you want to handle the loan. If its PENN, then its probably AES-PHEA that handles the servicing, and another institution handling the loan origination.

Good Luck.
