I'm trying to go to ivys. I got a ****ing 1840 on my SAT ,my third try Jesus Christ. What makes it sooo annoying is the fact that I scored well above that in practice test BB practice tests. On my lest Prac test I got a 2030 M: 690 cr: 640 wr: 700. So went to take the dec SAT feeling very confident. And somehow, i honestly think this a mistake but I got M: 610 Cr: 590 wr: 640. This really crushed my spirits. I dont get how this could happen. Should I give the SAT one more try? what on earth should I do? Should I just give up on Ivys? I have fee waivers for ivys btw
I'm black too btw and i'm a student athlete/very skilled chess player/math tutor.

I only took one SATII so should I take a few more in janurary and then the SAT one more time in march??? would that be tooooo late?

Well, I think you should not give up!

If I were you I’d do some SAT practice tests and carefully analyze my mistakes and my strengths. Then I’d focus on them ( on the mistakes!). For instance, if I have problems in error identification, I look at a list of the grammar rules that are tested on the SAT and practice on them. If I have math problems I practice the math rules. If it is all about the words, I learn them. I found that the diagnostic tests in the beginning of the prep books are very helpful.

If you do have time you should try, or you are simply gonna ask yourself for a long time "What if I had just tried?’ Even for the sake of this question try. There is nothing worse than The Question. And if you don’t get into an Ivy - at least you have tried!

Good luck!

do SAT in June. The curve is the best. As for improvement, read books regularly.
Do a test every Saturday morning at 7 30 am. Emulate the test conditions exactly. Get your body clock used to the early morning test. Trust me it helps. I did this for a month (ie 4 tests) and my score went from a 2050 to a 2200. I got in to Penn ED this year). Don’t lose faith. Just work hard and don’t rush into your test.

Do a SAT 2 in Jan/March. The aren’t that important though.
Since you are an african american youre chances are doubled.
BOL

If you’re a senior, OP, do your subject tests in January since you’re still missing one. You’re out of luck for the SAT.
