When I receive outside scholarships, what address do I send it to?

It says, "Please list University officer and address where the scholarship check is to be mailed."

What officer?

We sent a scholarship check in '08 to either the Bursar or Financial Aid - probably Bursar. You should call to check.

Financial Aid needs to know about the scholarship as it gets included in your package.

Call the bursar and double check. It’s a long wait on the phone sometimes, but it’s worth it to get the check sent to the right place.

“Financial Aid needs to know about the scholarship as it gets included in your package.”

What do they mean by this? If I get outside scholarships, do they take away from the aid that they gave me, or just subtract it from the amount that I have uncovered?

My daughter only had loans, so if I remember correctly the scholarship was subtracted from the loans.

All of this is probably spelled out on the financial aid page of NYU’s website…
